摘要： An insulation shearing electrical terminal for terminating an insulated conductor comprises an elongated web depending from a resilient socket. The web has an integral flange which is folded over onto itself to form outer and inner elongated plates which are integrally joined to each other at one end of the flange by a longitudinal bight which is laterally spaced from the web. The outer plate has a longitudinal slot at the opposite end of the flange which receives an insulated conductor with its axis transverse to the longitudinal slot. The inner plate has opposite longitudinal sides at the opposite end of the flange which respectively engage the web and the insulated conductor to produce a shearing action of the plates across the diameter of the insulated conductor.

摘要： An electrical connector for a flexible printed circuit comprises a connector body having two rows of open channels and a terminal disposed in each channel. Each channel has a longitudinal rib which projects from a partition wall on one side of the channel and is spaced from the partition wall on the other side of the channel and which cooperates with a base wall of the connector body to define a slot. The terminals have a side wall disposed between the longitudinal rib and the partition wall on the other side of the channel and a lateral flange which is attached to a longitudinal edge of the side wall and which is disposed in the slot to retain the terminal in the transverse direction. The terminals further comprise a contact bow which is attached to a forward edge of the lateral flange and has a nose portion seated against the longitudinal rib to retain the terminal in one longitudinal direction. The median portion of the contact bow projects outwardly of the channel for making an electrical connection with a flexible printed circuit.

摘要： An electrical female terminal comprises a longitudinal floor portion having an integral transverse wall at one end. A pin terminal is inserted through a hole in the transverse wall against a stop formed by an L-shaped flap which is integrally attached to a longitudinal edge of the floor portion of the female terminal. The female terminal has a second flap which is integrally attached to an opposite longitudinal edge of its floor portion and which functions as a spring clip to bias the pin terminal against a projection in the floor portion. The pin terminal is resistance welded to the projection and the flaps are spaced from the transverse wall to provide access for one of the welding electrodes.

摘要： A prepared ribbon cable is mass terminated to a preloaded electrical connector by wave soldering techniques. The preloaded connector comprises a housing and a plurality of terminals. The housing has an anvil in the form of a flange at the conductor end of the housing and a plurality of fins projecting from the conductor end to isolate the conductor attaching means of the terminals from each other. The terminals are inserted into cavities through openings at the mating end of the housing, retained by solder tabs which are bent over against the flange, and form part of the conductor attaching means. The conductor attaching means further includes slotted terminal portions which receive the conductors and position the ends of the conductors on the bent solder tabs.

摘要： A pigtail assembly has four insulated lead wires with terminals for attachment to a heated oxygen sensor post terminal. An insulator sleeve is slidably mounted on a central lead wire and has external guide holes for circumferentially spacing the three remaining lead wires and the three terminals attached thereto. The insulator sleeve also has two slots and a rib which cooperate in assuring proper seating and/or spacing of the three terminals. One of the three terminals has outwardly projecting lock tabs for holding a splash guard in place.A second pigtail assembly has two insulated lead wires with terminals for attachment to a nonheated oxygen sensor post terminal. The insulator sleeve is mounted on one of the lead wires and has an external guide hole for the other lead wire and the terminal attached to it. The insulator sleeve has vent slots and the terminal attached to the other lead wire has outwardly projecting tabs for holding the splash guard in place.

摘要： A pig tail is attached to an oxygen sensor by a sealed electrical connector having four terminals welded to respective contacts of the four way oxygen sensor post terminal. The electrical connector includes a welding fixture-connector body of dielectric material which prearranges the terminals for assembly to the post terminal as a unit. After assembly, the body serves as a welding fixture and for this purpose has diametrically opposed windows which provide access for the welding electrodes. The connector is sealed by a seal boot which is carried by a grommet which slides on the pig tail leads.

摘要： An electrical connector comprises a connector body which houses a pair of insulation displacement terminals which are attached to electrical leads which lead out of the connector body through an exit chamber. The electrical connector has a strain relief cover which includes a blade which enters the exit chamber and kinks the electrical leads laterally to pass through labyrinthian passages created by the blade so as to provide strain relief in the longitudinal direction of the electrical leads. The strain relief cover also has portions which cooperate with the connector body to provide strain relief in the lateral direction and to insure proper seating of the electrical leads in the attachment portions of the insulation displacement terminals.
