摘要： A system for securing a basket containing product securely within an autoclave or retort. The preferred embodiment of the present invention is used with rotational retorts, which generally include a rotational insert for receiving product-loaded baskets, the rotational insert rotated via a drive to rotate the baskets end over end during the autoclave process, for more efficient heat transfer. The present invention contemplates an improvement for securing the baskets within the retort, to facilitate secure rotation of the baskets and their contents, and prevent shifting of the baskets within the retort during rotation. Particularly, the preferred embodiment of the present invention contemplates the use of one or more lift bladders sandwiched between clamping platens situated along the length of the rotational insert, the lift bladders configured to expand to lift and position the baskets into a securing position for rotation, then deflate to release the baskets after processing for removal.

摘要： A variable-compression engine in which each piston is adjustable attached to the end of a connecting rod. Each piston is internally threaded to receive an adapter threaded into the piston's bore. The adapter is rotatably attached to an end of the connecting rod. Elongated teeth formed on the exterior of the piston engage mating teeth of a drive gear directly or through an intervening collar. A stepper motor drives the drive gear to rotate the piston, which advances along the threads of the adapter. As the piston advances along the threads, the piston's position relative to the end of the connecting rod changes. This change offsets the stroke of the piston and, consequently, the engine's compression ratio. Spiral notches in the piston head provide clearance for the opening of intake and exhaust valves.

摘要： An apparatus for processing a fish body into a plurality of transverse fish body section includes a plurality of spaced apart vertically standing work stations, each including a structural frame that supports a continuous rail or runway. The runway includes inclined sections that extend between the work station thereby defining an inclined travel path between the work stations. A wheeled carriage is movably mounted upon the runway and includes a set of spring loaded jaws for holding a fish body section to be processed. The carriage is movably mounted upon the runway so that the carriage can travel from one work station to the next in a sequential fashion. Each work station has a section of rail connected to the inclined runway which is at a lower elevation than the previous work station by a dimension which is equal to the thickness of the fish body section to be processed. Each work station may include a cutting blade such as, for example, a rotary band saw. The saws are at a constant elevation. As the fish body is moved from work station to work station it is lowered from one rail section to the next so that a series of transverse fish body sections are cut beginning with a cut at the tail area and ending with a cut just below the head. The fish to be processed are preferably preliminarly graded into groups of substantially similar size and weight so that transverse fish slabs of similar size are collected at each respective work station.

摘要： A rolling platform ladder includes a frame supporting a stairway and a flat work platform area at the top of the stairway. The frame includes a base portion that has a cantilevered front area for preventing tipping over if the platform is overloaded. A main structural support column is placed at the center portion of the platform and extends down at an angle toward the rear of the base. At least a portion of the platform is positioned in front of the column during use. This configuration enables at least a portion of the platform to be positioned over machines, conveyors and over obstructions. A portion of the base extends in front of the frame so that it can extend under objects elevated slightly above a work surface such as an elevated conveyor or machine.
