Abstract:
A cutting implement including a metal substrate and a coating is provided. The coating has zirconium PVD (ZrCRTiNO), which provides protection against corrosion of the metal substrate. In some instances, the zirconium PVD provides protection from corrosion for at least 200 hours. A layer of titanium nitride (TiN) can be added to the coating to increase the hardness of the metal substrate. In such an embodiment, the layer of titanium nitride (TiN) is applied before the zirconium PVD (ZrCRTiNO). Titanium nitride (TiN) coated steel is 3 to 5 times harder than uncoated steel. Thus, a combination of titanium nitride (TiN) and zirconium PVD (ZrCRTiNO) as a coating on a metal substrate can increase the life of the metal substrate by providing increased hardness and anti-corrosive properties.

An infeed system is arranged for receiving and turning incoming food products before entering a processing machine. The food products are arranged so a longitudinal axis of the food products is essentially parallel to a conveying direction of the incoming food products. The system comprises a pair of conveyor structures having at least two side by side arranged endless belts extending from an infeed end of the infeed system to an outfeed end of the infeed system. The belts are twisted towards the outfeed end so at the outfeed end the conveyor structures are arranged side by side. At the infeed end, the incoming food products are received and clamped between the belts of the conveyor structures and advanced from the infeed end towards the outfeed end while simultaneously rotating the received food products around said longitudinal axis of the food products.

A fish decapitating apparatus includes a fish holder configured to receive a fish with the belly side facing up at an in-feed station, a cutting station and a conveying apparatus configured to convey the fish in the fish holder from the in-feed station to the cutting station. The fish holder includes opposingly arranged guide members moveable in a hinge like manner. The guide members are configured to clamp the fish behind the collar bones such that the collar bones rest on an outer side of the guide members in the clamped state with the fish head sticking out from the fish holder. The fish decapitating apparatus includes a measuring device configured to measure the position of the collar bones when in the clamped position, and a control unit configured to automatically adjust the position of the cutting station during cutting in accordance with the measured position of the collar bones.

Disclosed herein are multipurpose scissors. In the multipurpose scissors, an upper blade and a lower blade are connected by a pivot pin, opposite cutting edges are formed on the upper and lower blades in front of the pivot pin, and upper and lower handles configured to grip the upper and lower blades and to perform cutting work are provided in back of the pivot pin. The multipurpose scissors include a garlic mincing unit, including: a crushing part configured such that pluralities of depressions and protrusions are formed to engage with each other on the friction surfaces of the upper and lower handles; and a discharge guiding part formed on the inner side of the crushing part, and configured such that an inclined guide surface and a discharge groove configured to discharge garlic, minced via the crushing part, in one direction are formed therein.

The invention relates to an apparatus for removing a surface layer including the skin from fish fillets, comprising a feeding device, a dispatching device and a separating arrangement having a driver roller, which is rotationally driven, and a main blade arranged in the region of the driver roller for removing the surface layer, wherein the main blade is arranged at a distance from the driver roller to form a cutting gap (S) and is designed to be deflectable relative to the driver roller, wherein the apparatus has a measuring arrangement, comprising at least one detection element which is designed and configured to determine size-relevant data of the fish fillets, and an evaluation and control unit, the evaluation and control unit being connected by means of signal lines to the detection element and to the main blade for automatically controlling the size of the cutting gap between the main blade and the driver roller depending on the previously determined fish fillet size.

The invention relates to an apparatus, designed and adapted for machine processing of decapitated and at least substantially gutted fish, transported tail-first in transport direction T on a transport path, comprising a conveying means which conveys the fish along the transport path and a cutting device for removing the flesh from the flank bones of the bone structure of a fish after cutting free the ventral and dorsal spokes, wherein the cutting device comprises a pair of circular knives which can be driven so as to rotate about a point of rotation D and which are arranged on opposite sides of the transport path and are designed to be adjustable relative to the position of the fish and thus to the bone structure, which is characterized in that each circular knife is allocated a means that is designed and configured to hold down at least some of the flank bones during the removal process of the flesh from the bone structure. An improved apparatus for processing sea cucumbers having stages for orienting/aligning, cutting, splitting, flattening, eviscerating and cleaning the sea cucumber, and for collecting the eviscerated innards. A method for the automated splitting and evisceration of sea cucumbers using the apparatus of the present disclosure. A flattening plate and trough during the orienting/aligning step relax the sea cucumber and discourage its defence mechanisms. A wedge shaped flattening plate splits and flattens the sea cucumber immediately after the incision. Pronged discs maintain positioning of the sea cucumber during an aggressive wash and brush cleaning cycle, which may be repeated. Optionally, a vacuum may suction off a portion of the innards prior to cleaning.

A glove for facilitating grasping a fish while scaling, gutting, cleaning, and cutting the fish. The glove has four elongated finger portions and an elongated thumb portion extending from a palm region. A plurality of fish scaling blades is disposed on several outer surface of the glove. The glove is typically formed from a material typically having a roughened texture and is impervious to the fish cleaning by-products such as fish entrails, fish scales, and the like. An opening allows access of a hand of a wearer to a hollow interior portion and to fingers and the thumb. An optional flashlight and/or sharpening stone may be attached to the glove.
