Abstract: A phototherapy device for treating neonatal hyperbilirubinemia comprises a plurality of LEDs coupled to a support structure configured to absorb and dissipate heat generated by the LEDs without requiring a fan. The LEDs provide a uniform dose of radiation on a treatment surface of the subject over a distance range of 20 cm to 45 cm. The support structure can comprise a heat-conductive metal plate. The LEDs have an emission range of 400 nm to 520 and a light output intensity of at least 30 μW/cm2/nm and at most 65 μW/cm2/nm at the treatment surface. The device can be adjustably coupled to a mounting structure. Power supplied to the LEDs is adjustable based on the total number of hours of use of he LEDs, the intensity of the LED radiation, the distance between the LEDs and the treatment surface, and/or the tilt or orientation of the phototherapy device.

Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure provide a fluid collection device including a rigid or semi-rigid structure having a wedge-shaped leading edge to fit under a patient's buttocks while the patent is supine. At least one receptacle is provided in the structure to receive fluid discharged by the patient. A measurement apparatus associated with the at least one receptacle indicates a threshold volume of fluid collected by the fluid collection device.

Abstract: A continuous positive airway pressure system comprises an inspiratory portion, an expiratory portion, and a controller. The inspiratory portion is coupled to a patient interface to provide an airflow with positive pressure to a patient. The inspiratory portion includes a first sensor to measure a pressure and/or a flow rate of the airflow at the inspiratory portion. The expiratory portion is coupled to the patient interface to receive air exhaled from the patient. The expiratory portion includes a second sensor for measuring a pressure and/or a flow rate of the air exhaled at the expiratory portion. The controller (i) determines a pressure at the patient interface based on the measured pressures and/or the flow rates of the airflow at the inspiratory portion and the air exhaled at the expiratory portion and (ii) modifies the airflow provided by the inspiratory portion based on the determined pressure.
