An information processing apparatus is provided which include a display control unit that causes a touch panel to display a slider to specify one of specifiable values by an operating body as a specified value and a start edge value and an end edge value stored in a storage unit and if the touch panel acquires position information indicating position on the slider, decides a value corresponding to the position information as the specified value and also decides an interval to decide a new specifiable range in accordance with a contact state quantity acquired by the contact state quantity acquisition unit, specifies the new specifiable range based on the interval using the specified value as a reference.

Utilizing publishing and subscribing clients in network media channels having a first network coupled to at least a first server and a second server. The first server includes storage configured to store media data, and a network media channel manager configured to send and receive the media data according to one or more network media channels. The first server is also coupled to a publishing client, which is configured to publish the media data using a first network media channel selected from the one or more network media channels, and a subscribing client in a local network external to a first network. The subscribing client subscribes and accesses the media data using a second network media channel selected from the one or more network media channels. One or more network media channels include at least one local channel that is limited to the local network so that only the subscribing client can present to the local channel.

A transmission apparatus for a wireless device, comprising: an antenna for receiving an original signal and for backscattering a modulated signal containing information from the wireless device; a variable impedance coupled to the antenna, the variable impedance having an impedance value; a delta-sigma modulator coupled to the variable impedance for modulating the impedance value, and thereby a backscattering coefficient for the antenna, in accordance with the information to generate the modulated signal; and, a decoder coupled to the delta-sigma modulator for generating the impedance value from the information.

A method of unlocking a mobile terminal and a mobile terminal is disclosed. The mobile terminal is initially locked to the services of a mobile services provider. The mobile services provider transmits to a predefined telephone number associated with a service provider other than the mobile services provider, via the mobile services provider, a request for unlocking information. The request is transparent to the mobile services provider. If the request is approved, the mobile terminal receives the unlocking information. Using the received unlocking information, the mobile terminal unlocks itself so that it is no longer locked to the services of the mobile services provider. If the request is not approved, the mobile terminal receives and displays a message indicating that the request is not approved.

To reduce the call cost for user messages of a few tens of bytes through a mobile telephone network (3), and to avoid having to set up a call channel as is necessary for transmitting data of several thousands of bytes, spare fields in signaling messages are used to convey the user messages, a call then taking place via signaling messages, and without a dedicated call channel being set up.
