摘要: Embodiments of the invention describe systems, apparatuses and methods for providing athermicity and a tunable spectral response for optical filters. Finite impulse response (FIR) filters are commonly implemented in photonic integrated circuits (PICs) to make devices such as wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) devices, asymmetric Mach-Zehnder interferometers (AMZIs) and array waveguide gratings (AWGs). Athermicity of an FIR filter describes maintaining a consistent frequency transmission spectrum as the ambient temperature changes. A tunable spectral response for an FIR filter describes changing the spectrum of an FIR filter based on its application, as well as potentially correcting for fabrication deviations from the design. In addition, embodiments of the invention reduce energy dissipation requirements and control complexity compared to prior art solutions.

摘要: A latch assembly is provided for a movable closure element. The latch assembly has a housing and a first rotor that is movable relative to the housing selectively between a) a first latched position and b) a release position. The first rotor is biased towards the release position and has a first throat to receive a strike element. The latch assembly further consists of an operating assembly having a latched state and an unlatched state The operating assembly in the latched state releasably maintains the first rotor in the first latched position. The operating assembly has a catch arm that is movable relative to the housing from a first position into a second position to thereby change the operating assembly from the latched state into the unlatched state. The operating assembly further has a catch block that is movable floatingly relative to the catch arm from a) an engaged position with the catch arm in the first position into b) a disengaged position as an incident of the catch arm moving from its first position into its second position. The catch block in the engaged position causes the first rotor to be maintained in the first latched position.

The latch assembly has a housing with first and second rotors each movable relative thereto between a first latched position, a release position, and a second latched position. The first and second rotors in their first and second latched positions define a receptacle with an effective diameter and a center line that is angularly disposed to the line of a straight edge on the housing. With the rotors in their first latched positions, the center line of the receptacle is spaced from the first line a first distance. The center line of the receptacle is at a first location with the rotors in their first latched position and a second location with the rotors in their second latched positions. The first and second locations are spaced a second distance. The effective diameter of the receptacle, with the first and second rotors in their first latched positions, varies from each of the first and second distances by no more than ±40%.

The dispenser is designed to prevent excessive force that is applied to the user actuation mechanism from causing damage to components of the dispenser connected to the user actuation mechanism. A torque limiting mechanism is used to limit the torque that is applied to the dispensing mechanism of the dispenser when a user applies an excessive force to the user actuation mechanism. The torque applied to the dispensing mechanism is kept below a level that would be sufficient to cause damage to the dispensing mechanism or portions thereof.

摘要: Improvements to paper web material dispensers, particularly two roll tissue dispensers. A dispenser according to the invention is able to prevent access to a second or reserve roll of tissue until a first or dispensing roll is entirely or substantially depleted. As a result, the tissue of the first roll must be used up, or substantially used up, before tissue from the second roll can be used, thereby avoiding tissue waste. The dispenser of the invention can be used with reduced core tissue rolls, where each roll has first and second core sections that are spaced apart from each other to form a gap between facing ends thereof so that the total length of the core sections is less than the width of the tissue wound onto the core sections. The dispenser of the invention thus encourages the use of reduced core tissue rolls, which results in a reduction of waste resulting from used tissue cores.

摘要: A latch assembly for a movable closure element of the type having first and second sides. The latch assembly has a housing, a first rotor movable relative to the housing selectively between a) a latched position and b) a release position, and an operating assembly which is operable to change the first rotor from the latched position into the release position. A first rotor is engageable with a strike element relative to which the movable closure element can be moved to thereby releasably maintain the movable closure element in a desired position. The first rotor is biased towards the release position. The operating assembly includes a catch block assembly that is movable selectively between a) an engaged position wherein the first rotor is maintained in the latched position and b) a disengaged position wherein the first rotor is permitted to move from the latched position into the release position. The operating assembly further includes a first actuating assembly for mounting on the first side of the movable closure. The first actuating assembly has a first normal state and a first release state. The first actuating assembly directly engages the catch block assembly and causes the catch block assembly to change from the engaged position into the release position as an incident of the first actuating assembly changing from the first normal state into the first release state.
