    Abstract: A protective aviation garment is designed to protect a crewmember during flight. The garment includes a bladder layer which retains a pressurized fluid and applies pressure to the user. The bladder layer is semi-permeable, being impermeable to both oxygen and nitrogen and permeable to water vapor. A first fluid tube is formed as part of the bladder layer to deliver the pressurized fluid to the interior of the bladder layer. A cover layer is formed from a fire-retardant fabric surrounding the exterior of the bladder layer. The cover layer is sealed around the first fluid tube and allows the first fluid tube to pass therethrough. The thigh seals are configured to seal the bladder layer to the user such that the bladder layer forms a lower volume and an upper volume. The first fluid tube delivers the first pressurized fluid to the lower volume.

    Abstract: A belt pack communication device is provided. An exemplary belt pack communication device includes at least one printed circuit board assembly (PCBA) positioned in a main body. The at least one PCBA has electrical components producing infrared (IR) signals. An IR transparent section is positioned on the main body. The IR transparent section includes at least one extrusion configured to allow the IR signals to pass through the IR transparent section and to receive external IR signals from at least a different communication device. A battery compartment for receiving a battery and delivering power to the at least one PCBA. The battery compartment is configured to isolate and seal the battery from the at least one PCBA. Several metal contacts are positioned at distal ends of the battery compartment. The metal contacts are configured to pass power from the battery to the at least one PCBA.

    Abstract: A gateway retrieval alert device is configured for use in an aircraft ground support system. The gateway retrieval alert device is connected to an intercom gateway, either through a direct wireless connection or through a direct connection to a headset of a tug operator, the headset in turn being wirelessly connected to the intercom gateway. The integrity of the wireless link to the intercom gateway is monitored, and when the integrity of the link falls below a set threshold, an alert is issued. The alert is issued externally to the communication network between the ground crew and pilot.

    Abstract: A control system and method of selectively enabling an auto-shutoff feature of a control system for an aviation headset includes a power switch. The power switch is toggled and if the control system is in a powered down state, a startup sequence for the control system is initiated. During the startup sequence, a bias voltage detector checks for a bias voltage on a signal line of the headset. If a bias voltage is detected during the startup sequence, the auto-shutoff feature is enabled. The auto-shutoff feature periodically checks for a bias voltage and powers down the control system if no bias voltage is detected for a predetermined time interval. If no bias voltage is detected during startup, the auto-shutoff feature is disabled.

    Abstract: A method and system for digital data transfer includes a source entity and destination entity. The source entity is configured to send a plurality of data packets at a plurality of send times separated by transmission time intervals. The destination entity is configured to receive the data packets at a plurality of receipt times separated by receipt time intervals, populate a buffer, and playback the data packets. When the receipt time interval between the receipt times of two data packets is less than the transmission time interval between the send times of said data packets, the playback speed of the data packets is dynamically adjusted to be a faster than nominal playback speed. When the buffer is smaller than a nominal buffer size, the playback speed is dynamically adjusted to be slower than nominal playback speed.

A plurality of communication devices are in communication with the host application and configured to send and receive data packets between others of the communication devices via the host application. The data packets containing digital information related to at least one type of media content. The host application receives the data packets and distributes the data packets according to a dynamic multicast distribution scheme. The dynamic multicast distribution scheme changes, for each communication device, according to at least one communication metric through WiFi modulation, forward error correction, or audio codec sampling and bit rates.
