摘要: A data communications network, for which presence information is maintained for wireless data communication devices forming nodes of the network, includes: a presence server; and a plurality of nodes formed by the wireless data communication devices, each of the devices configured to send periodic check-in messages to the presence server. The presence server is configured to send an acknowledgment in response to a check-in message. Each of the wireless data communication devices is configured to reset a timer associated with the sending of the check-in messages by it upon (i) communicating, as an intermediate node, a check-in message originating at another node, and (ii) communicating, as an intermediate node, a corresponding acknowledgment originating at the presence server. The presence server is configured to update presence information of wireless data communication device from which a check-in message originates and each intermediate node.

摘要: A method of securing a container includes inserting, into a seal device at a container, an electronic bolt; reading, by the seal device, a serial number stored in the electronic bolt; communicating, from the seal device, to a user application, insertion of the bolt; scanning, by the user via a handheld device, a barcode on the seal device representative of an identification of the seal device; communicating, from the handheld device to the user application, the identification of the seal device; inputting, by a user at the container via the handheld device, information associated with the container; communicating, from the handheld device to the user application, the information associated with the container; associating, in a database by the user application, the information associated with the container with the bolt serial number and the identification of the seal device; communicating, by the user application, a confirmation to the seal device.

摘要: A system includes one or more wireless islands, one or more incident management applications, and one or more message management and routing (MMR) systems. Each MMR systems is configured to act as an intermediary for communication between one of the wireless islands and one or more of the incident management applications. One of the wireless islands includes a radio network. The radio network includes a plurality of remote sensor nodes (RSNs), and a gateway controller. An RSN of the plurality of RSNs is worn by ESS personnel, the gateway controller is mounted to an ESS vehicle, and the RSN is configured to wirelessly communicate with the gateway controller.

摘要: A method and apparatus for attenuating an interfering signal corrupting a desired Loran C signal is provided. An interfering signal sample is determined which occurs at the peak of the autocorrelation function of the interfering signal such that the period of the interferer is known. The sample occurring at the peak of the autocorrelation function is added to or subtracted from the desired Loran C signal sample taken at a predetermined reference point during the pulses thereof such that the interfering signal is cancelled or substantially attenuated.

摘要: An intersystem communication path (20, 67) can be established on an as needed basis. Already established paths are fully utilized before new paths are established. Already established paths can be automatically disconnected when no longer needed, or when existing calls can be merged on to fewer lines. Dial up lines can be mixed with dedicated lines. If desired, excess capacity can be guaranteed to accommodate high traffic conditions and/or other conditions that precipitate a likely need for communication services between systems.
