Abstract:
A running gear frame for a rail vehicle includes a central transverse beam, and two longitudinal beams connected together in a frame transverse direction via the transverse beam, wherein the transverse beam has at least a front web element, a rear web element and a transverse beam lower chord. The web elements run between the longitudinal beams in the frame transverse direction and in a frame height direction and are connected therewith and are arranged spaced apart in a frame longitudinal direction. The transverse beam lower chord extends on an underside of the transverse beam between the longitudinal beams and is connected with the web elements. Furthermore, the transverse beam lower chord extends beyond the front web element and/or the rear web element by at least 10% of the web element distance.
Abstract:
The invention relates to biocompatible, thermosensitive polymers that can be heated, with the aid of a high-frequency magnetic alternating field, by encapsulating magnetic and/or metallic colloids or magnetic nanoparticles. As a result of the inductive heating of the polymer matrix, physical structure changes are triggered in the polymer matrix that lead to the bioactive substances encapsulated in the matrix being released within a short period of time. This “stimulus-response” principle is employed for the production of controllable drug depots, contrast-intensifying media for NMR diagnostics or manipulable micro-tools, as media for blocking blood vessels and as controllable porogens in the production of membranes.
Abstract:
A digital microelectronic circuit comprises a clocked data-processing unit (1) and a converting unit (2) which reads in data present at the output of the data-processing unit, performs a predetermined converting operation on the data and passes on the converted data. The converting unit is realized in an asynchronous logic circuit, such that the period of time for performing the converting operation is shorter than the shortest time interval to the next change of the data present at the output of the data-processing unit. In this way, fast, serial synchronous processes can be parallelized from the point of view of the slow synchronous system in synchronous systems which are slow relative thereto by using asynchronous logics, without a further high-frequency clock system being required.
Abstract:
The invention relates to spherical and magnetic silicagel particles which are provided with an increased surface by incorporating SiO2 colloids and produced by a method for inverse dispersion cross-linking of silica sols. The addition of certain metallic oxides to said silica sols and a subsequent tempering make it possible to obtain silicagel particles which exhibit increased nucleic acid binding properties and are used for separating a nucleic acid and isolating biomolecules.
Abstract:
In a microcontroller (100) the command decoder (15) has access to at least one memory (14). The command decoder may thus be adapted to decode at least one conditional command, while the result of decoding the conditional command is dependent on the contents of said memory (14). The microcontroller according to the invention thus provides the possibility of considerably reducing the programming effort so that both the system performance and the code density can be significantly increased with a small additional number of hardware components.
Abstract:
A running gear for a rail vehicle, including a wheel unit, a motor unit and a running gear frame unit being supported on the wheel unit. The motor unit is connected to the wheel unit to drive the wheel unit. Further more, the motor unit is suspended to the running gear frame unit via a connecting device. The connecting device is transversally elastic to allow a relative transverse motion between the motor unit and the running gear frame unit. The connecting device has a transverse rigidity being sufficiently low such that a contribution of the motor unit to an inertial moment of the running gear frame unit about the height direction is reduced by at least 50%.
Abstract:
A tool closing system for plastic blow molding machines comprises a drive base plate, a front mold clamping plate and a rear mold clamping plate positioned between the front clamping plate and the base plate. The base plate, front clamping plate, and rear clamping plate are shiftably arranged on guides which are mounted on a carriage. A drive device is fastened to the base plate and comprises an extensible and retractable drive rod which is articulated to the rear clamping plate for force transmission without bending moment. Two substantially C-shaped or U-shaped frame elements are arranged side by side in parallel with the guides. Each have a substantially horizontally extending central web and two substantially vertically extending webs. A respective one of the two vertical webs is articulated to the base plate and the other vertical web is articulated to the front clamping plate.

Abstract:
Spherically shaped polyvinyl alcohol (PVAL) polymer particles are prepared encapsulating a magnetic colloid that provides the particles with magnetic properties for use in binding biomolecules. The particles have a size of 1-10 &mgr;m that makes them particularly suitable for use in cell separation/sorting, cleaning biosubstances in suspension and diagnostic assays. The particles are prepared by dispersing a magnetic colloid containing a magnetic material such as a ferromagnetic or superparamagnetic substance in an aqueous solution of polyvinyl alcohol containing reactive hydroxyl groups, adding the resultant mixture to an organic phase containing a mixture of at least two emulsifiers, and adding a water-soluble cross-linking agent such as a dialdehyde that reacts with the hydroxyl groups of polyvinyl alcohol to form the polymer particles. The emulsifiers are miscible in the polyvinyl alcohol solution, and at least one emulsifier is semi-hydrophilic and at least one emulsifier is lipophilic. The cross-linking agent may be used in combination with a water-soluble diamine. The polymer particles contain reactive hydroxyl groups and can be provided with spacer molecules to which biomolecules such as antibodies, peptides, proteins, enzymes, streptavidin, avidin, oligonucleotides, oligosaccharides or DNA can be coupled. Vinyl monomers having one or more functional groups such as carboxyl, hydroxyl, amino, aldehyde or oxirane may be grafted to the polymer particles by radical polymerization under the catalytic effect of cerium (IV).
