    摘要: A front projection display system that integrates an optical engine, having control and power supply electronics, and a dedicated projection screen to provide a compact video display device. The projection engine is coupled to a high gain projection screen, having an optimized reflection pattern to give optimum optical performance in ambient H& and viewing angle sensitive environments. Components of the projection engine are modularly placed in a retractable arm pivotally connected to the screen. The arm offers precise registration to the screen apparatus and thus repeatably precisely aligns optically and mechanically to the screen. The projection wall system has an open projection position and a closed storage position. Use of a radically offset projection head having matching keystone correction features allows the arm to protrude above the head of the presenter and offer a sharp and unobtrusive projection zone.

    摘要: A portable overhead projector having a folding arm. The arm and a torque member are pivotally attached to the projector head, forming a four bar linkage. When the arm is moved from an upright, operative position to a storage position, the projector head rotates so as to be flush with the base of the projector, making the projector more compact for storage. An adjustment mechanism is also provided to automatically open and close a mirror which is attached to the projector head, simplifying the set up procedure of the overhead projector.

    摘要: A front projection system and associated method are disclosed that correct distortion for a front projector device. The front projector device is characterized by off-axis optics and a throw-to-screen diagonal ratio of at most 1 which generate distortion including pincushion, keystone and anamorphic distortion components. Further, the projection device has an electronic distortion correction component operable to pre-distort an image prior to projection in order to correct for the pincushion, keystone and anamorphic distortion components of the projector device. Further, an associated method is also disclosed for correcting distortion generated in a projection system by a combination of optical and electronic correction. The method comprises setting a limit on the amount of image information that is acceptable to lose through the optical components, and selecting an optical solution is comprising optics having inherent distortion within the set limit. Then, an electronic correction component is selected that is operable to pre-distort an image to correct for remaining distortion not corrected by the optics of the optical solution.

    摘要: An integrated front projection system has a housing assembly, a projection assembly, and an expansion assembly. The housing assembly includes a frame having a front surface that provides a front projection screen and contains other modular components. In addition, a projection assembly with a movable arm may be included, having a storage position and a projection position, and to which the front projection head may be coupled. According to one aspect, the projection assembly is modularized and has a plurality of easily replaceable component modules coupled to the housing and which operate together to project an image onto the front projection screen. According to another aspect, the integrated front projection system further has an expansion assembly coupled to the housing. The expansion assembly includes an expansion slot formed in the housing and electrically coupled to a display controller in the projection assembly and expansion modules coupled to the expansion slot. The expansion modules operate to enhance functionality of the display controller.

    摘要: A light trap for a projector, such as an integrated LCD projector, is provided for placement in ventilation channels to prevent escape of light through the channels while allowing free flow of cooling fluid through the channels. The light trap is constructed of material having a honeycomb-like structure, with conduits in the light trap being preferably disposed obliquely between the light source and the duct opening. The light trap may be coated or treated to increase absorption of visible and infrared radiation. A light trap according to this invention not only prevents escape of extraneous light from the projector's ventilation openings, but it assists in controlling the heat load generated by the light source, and it provides less resistance to air flow than does a louvered panel that is typically used to cover a ventilation opening in a projector thus reducing the amount of noise associated with the ventilation system.
