    Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes: first and second drum members that extend in one direction and have a cylindrical shape; first and second sheet members that are replaceably wound around outer peripheries of the first and second drum members, respectively, in a state where one end and the other end of each of the first and second sheet members are separated from each other in a circumferential direction, the first and second sheet members coming in contact with a medium on which an image is to be formed; and an angular displacement mechanism that angularly displaces the first and second drum members in tandem to switch among a first attachment position where the one end of the first sheet member is attached to the first drum member in a state where the first sheet member is removed, a second attachment position where the second sheet member is attached to the second drum member in a state where the second sheet member is removed, and a third attachment position where the other end of the first sheet member that is attached during the first attachment position is attached to the first drum member, in an order of the first attachment position, the second attachment position, and the third attachment position.

    Abstract: An image forming apparatus including a first processor configured to control a first image former that forms a first image using a color material having a first color composition and a second processor configured to control a second image former that forms, using a color material having a second color composition, a second image to be superimposed on the first image.     Abstract: A method for producing a resin particle dispersion includes: preparing a phase-inverted emulsion by phase inversion emulsification of a resin using an organic solvent and an aqueous medium; and removing the organic solvent from the phase-inverted emulsion contained in a distillation tank by reduced pressure distillation. During the reduced pressure distillation, the rate of pressure reduction in an environment in which the pressure inside the distillation tank is equal to or higher than vapor pressure and equal to or lower than (the vapor pressure+5 kPa) when the concentration of the organic solvent in the phase-inverted emulsion is in the range of 30% by mass or less to 1% by mass or more is from 0.01 kPa/min to 0.5 kPa/min inclusive until the pressure inside the distillation tank reaches a preset reduced pressure for the reduced pressure distillation.

    Abstract: A medium accommodating device includes: a loading unit on which media are loadable in an up-down direction; a first restricting unit that is provided in the loading unit and restricts a position of a side portion of a medium in a width direction intersecting a transport direction of the medium according to a dimension of the medium in the width direction; an air supply unit that supplies air to plural media loaded on the loading unit to float and separate the plural media; a transporting unit that sequentially sends the media that are floated and separated by the air supply unit; a photographing unit that photographs a state in which the media are floated and separated by the air supply unit from an outside of the medium in the width direction; a second restricting unit that is attached to the loading unit when a narrow medium having dimensions in the width direction smaller than dimensions of the medium is loaded on the loading unit, and restricts a position of a side portion of the narrow medium in the width direction; and a focal distance changing unit that is installed at a position facing the photographing unit in a state in which the second restricting unit is attached, and aligns a focal point of the photographing unit with the side portion of the narrow medium in the width direction by changing a focal distance.

    Abstract: An image forming method includes charging operation a surface of the electrophotographic photoreceptor that does not contain lubricant particles in a region of 30% from a surface of an outermost surface layer with respect to a film thickness of the outermost surface layer or contains 5% by mass or less of the lubricant particles with respect to an entirety of the region; forming an electrostatic latent image; developing the electrostatic latent image with a developer to form a toner image; transferring the toner image to a surface of a recording medium; and cleaning the surface of the electrophotographic photoreceptor by bringing a cleaning blade into contact with the surface after the toner image is transferred, wherein a dynamic friction coefficient in a contact portion between the electrophotographic photoreceptor and the cleaning blade is 0.2 or greater and 0.6 or less.
