    摘要: The apparatus for measuring differences in the transmission of light through a lens of an eye is an eye chart has two main sections including a test section that displays a shade of a test color and a reference section that displays either a spectrum of shades, or a different shade of, the test color. The chart is displayed in a box, projected on a wall or displayed as a chart hung on a wall. The chart is illuminated using a constant or variable intensity light source. A patient is required to find or make a match between the shades disposed on the chart. When the variable intensity light is used, the patient will be required to adjust the light intensity of the section it illuminates until a match in color shades is made. The chart may be used in conjunction with a Snellen eye chart.

    摘要: The invention relates to a material which is refractory, porous, resistant to fluorine-containing gases, stable in its volume and heat-insulation, particularly in the form of formed bricks, for a refractory, heat-insulating lining in electrolytic cells, in which metal aluminum is extracted by electrolysis from aluminum oxide dissolved in a fluoride melt; the material has an Al.sub.2 O.sub.3 content of over 50 wt % and a TiO.sub.2 content of 2.5-10 wt % and during the action of fluorine-containing gases at temperatures between 700.degree. and 1000.degree. C. in the area of the material exposed to the fluorine gas, on free surfaces, particularly at the boundary surfaces of intergranular hollow spaces, needle-shaped TiO.sub.2 crystals and/or TiO.sub.2 -containing crystals are formed, growing without regularity into the porous space. The invention furthermore relates to a method for the manufacture as well as the use of the refractory material.

    摘要: The desiccant bottle cap includes a cap structure and a desiccant material adhered thereto. The desiccant bottle cap is preferably used to cover a medicine bottle so that the efficiency of the medicine disposed therein will not be impaired by moisture resulting from humid air entering the bottle. In one embodiment, the desiccant bottle cap includes a bottle cap and a desiccant packet affixed to an interior surface thereof. In another embodiment, the desiccant bottle cap includes a bottle cap, a bottle cap liner adhered to an interior surface of the bottle cap, and a desiccant packet adhered to a top surface of the desiccant liner. In yet another embodiment, loose desiccant material or a disk of desiccant material is sandwiched between a bottle cap liner and a porous material to create a bottle cap insert for removable insertion into a bottle cap.
