摘要: A ceramic liner can include a monolithic body having a surface portion and a bulk portion. The surface portion can have a thickness less than the total thickness of the monolithic body. The monolithic body can include an amorphous phase. The amorphous phase can be discontinuous. At least one member of the discontinuous phase can be embedded in the surface portion. The bulk portion can be substantially free of the amorphous phase. A method of forming a ceramic liner can include providing a furnace with a coating and a bulk material of the ceramic liner and heating the bulk material and the coating. In an embodiment, a coated lining form can be used to provide the coating. In a particular embodiment, the coating can be transferred to the bulk material from the coated lining form.

摘要: Methods for forming monolithic refractory compositions may include providing a particulate refractory composition including 2 to 90 mass-% alumina, aluminosilicate, or mixtures thereof; 2 to 70 mass-% silicon carbide; 2 to 10 mass-% carbon; 1 to 10 mass-% Si powder; 1 to 3 mass-% microsilica; and up to 5 mass-% ferrosilicon. The methods may further include adding an amount of water to the particulate refractory composition to form a uniform mixture, installing the uniform mixture and allowing it to set, such that the monolithic refractory composition is required, and heat-treating the set mixture at a temperature no higher than 1200° C. under atmospheric conditions to form a monolithic refractory composition. The methods may optionally include heat-treating the obtained monolithic refractory composition to form silicon carbide whiskers within the monolithic refractory composition.

摘要: A thermal spray powder of the present invention contains ceramic particles having an average particle size of 1 μm or more and 20 μm or less. The ceramic particles have a flowability index value FT of 3 or more measured by using a powder rheometer. The flowability index value FF is determined by measuring the maximum principal stress and the uniaxial collapse stress of the ceramic particles at normal temperature and normal humidity when 9 kPa of shear force is applied to the ceramic particles, and by dividing the measured maximum principal stress by the measured uniaxial collapse stress.
