    摘要: A sheet feeding apparatus and an image forming apparatus, which can improve sheet feeding performance at low cost without degrading usability, are provided. Projections 42T and 43T are provided in abutting surfaces, which abut on lateral end of a sheet S, of a pair of lateral-end regulating portions 42 and 43 provided opposite each other. The projections regulates climbing over the lateral-end regulating portions of the sheet S when the sheet S is fed. Guide projections 100a and 100c are provided opposite each other along a cassette attaching direction in an inner wall surface of an attaching space, in which a sheet feeding cassette of an apparatus body is attached. When the sheet S climbs over the projections in feeding the sheet S, the sheet S is abutted on the guide projections to regulate upward movement of the sheet S.

The upstream side guide is provided at a position away from a sheet conveyed in a thickness direction of the sheet rather than the sheet guide portion so that an inclined surface side of the sheet is deflected when the end portion of the sheet abuts against an inclined surface of the sheet introducing portion. The sheet conveying apparatus further includes an inclined guide which is provided at the downstream side of the upstream side guide in the passage portion, guides the sheet conveyed by the upstream side guide, and is inclined in the thickness direction of the sheet so as to narrow a path interval of the passage portion.

    摘要: An image heating apparatus for heating an image formed on a recording material, the apparatus including a conveying roller for conveying a recording material, the conveying roller including a metal core and an elastic layer provided outside the metal core, wherein the metal core has, in a central portion in the longitudinal direction thereof, a straight shape area having a substantially uniform diameter along the longitudinal direction and tapered shape areas, on both sides of the straight shape area, in which a diameter gradually decreases toward ends in the longitudinal direction, and wherein the elastic layer has, in a central portion in the longitudinal direction thereof, a straight shape area having a substantially uniform diameter along the longitudinal direction and inverted crown shape areas, on both sides of the straight shape area, in which a diameter gradually increases toward ends in the longitudinal direction. This configuration allows to prevent defects in image heating while suppressing creases in the recording material.
