摘要: A non-inflatable device for supporting a sign on water. A single float embodiment is the basic element. In a typical embodiment, two or more non-inflatable floats are separated at a predetermined distance by one or more spacing members that mate with a spacing member mount on the top of each float. The spacing member mount and spacing members of the invention enable the invention to be expandable, such that the number of floats and spacing members may be varied, depending on the application and need. The floating sign may be anchored or mobile. Sign supporting members are mounted onto the top end of the float in order to support a substantially planar sign portion.

摘要: The present invention relates to wave pools and diversion channels that capture high kinetic energy portions of a wave generated within the wave pool, and redirects the captured wave portions to the vicinity of wave formation, preferably timed so as reinforce a subsequently generated wave. The high kinetic energy within the diversion channel creates an additional feature in the form of an action river for riders of a wave pool to enjoy. At the same time, capturing of portions of the wave reduces the backwash of the wave and stabilizes the level of water within the wave pool, especially for embodiments with wave generators and pools capable of high volume waves. Riders may enter the diversion channel and ride from the distal, beach end of the wave pool to the proximatal, wave generating end.

摘要: A facility capable of hosting ocean water sports is situated in a geographic location that is accessible to spectators. The facility is capable of emulating the required ocean environment for a desired water sport within a water course, pool, or other large receptacle of water by use of scalable, non-interfering wave generators. Contemplated water sports range from offshore power boat racing to surfing. Location of the simulated environment enables sufficient spectator facilities in which admission may be controlled.

摘要: Systems, methods, and computer readable media for adjusting the orientation of an image frame and a scene depicted in the image frame are described. In general, techniques are disclosed for analyzing an image with one or more feature detectors to identify features in the image. An alignment or position associated with one or more features identified in the image may be used to determine a proper orientation for the image frame. The image can then be rotated to the proper orientation. It may also be determined if a scene depicted in the image is properly aligned in the rotated image orientation. If not, alignment information associated with the identified features may be utilized to straighten the depicted scene.

摘要: Disclosed is a wave pool for creating multiple surf-able waves when a wave generating device forces water into a first end of the wave pool. The wave pool includes a first deep area adjacent the end of the wave pool having the wave generating device. It is followed by a first artificial reef that creates a first shallow area that causes a swell created by the wave generating device to become a first surf-able wave. This is followed by a second deep area that causes the first surf-able wave to revert to a swell. A second artificial reef creates a second shallow area causing the swell to become a second surf-able wave. A basin and swash area follows the second artificial reef for dissipating the remaining energy of the second surf-able wave. An optional set of edge shallows can extend substantially the length of the wave pool to create a surf-able curling wave along each side of the wave pool.

摘要: The present invention is a distributed information system that automates the front office function of a traditional stock brokerage, including the ability to register new consumers as clients at an accessible kiosk. Consumers establish cash accounts at the kiosk and undertake securities transactions against a cash account. This system provides a securities trading entry point in the form of user friendly kiosks and the supporting architecture to bring securities trading to a broader segment of the population than traditional brokerages, or direct access trading software applications, which require prior registration and internet access. The kiosks are configured so as to avoid storing personal information of the consumers. The present invention may be used with a computerized back office system, or a traditional back office staff, either in-house or provided by a third party.

The floating sign may be anchored or mobile. In a stationary embodiment, an anchoring system holds the floats in place. In a mobile embodiment, the system for anchoring the floats in place is replaced by a ballasting weight configured to improve its vertical performance during motion, whether the sign is towed or drifting, as in a pond. Sign supporting members are mounted onto the top end of the float in order to support a substantially planar sign portion. The mounting means and support members may vary widely, and should be configured for the environment.
