摘要:
Fine needle arrangement for taking a sample of cells from suspicious lesions by using fine needle aspiration (FNA) technique, including a tubular needle member (1), a storage compartment (2) enclosing a chamber, and a coupling (3) to which a connector may be attached. The chamber is configured with a gradually increasing cross-sectional area from the distal part of the chamber to the proximal part of the chamber, such that the chamber has no residual spaces where cell samples may be trapped, and that an efficient air streaming is achieved.

The invention provides methods for identifying conditions of low grade cervical dysplasia and assessing the progressive potential of individual lesions to develop into high grade cervical dysplasia and cervical squamous cell cancer as well as cervical adenocarcinoma.
摘要:
An arrangement for taking a sample of cells from a suspicious lesion or a tumour with the so called fine needle aspiration technique, provides a good penetration of tumours, especially small and/or hard fibrous tumours, and in the meantime yielding an increased amount of cells in the sample, by applying a longitudinal movement to the needle when the needle is penetrating the tumour and by applying both a rotational and a longitudinal movement to the needle when the needle is positioned inside the tumour. The arrangement is further provided with heat generating elements in order to apply a short pulse of heat to the needle in order to lower the risk for the tumour to spread.

The invention provides a method of detecting the presence of invasive cervical carcinoma in a subject comprising detecting in a cervical cell from the subject the presence of a chromosome abnormality which is associated with invasive cervical carcinoma; the presence of the cervical cell containing the chromosome abnormality indicating the presence of invasive cervical carcinoma in the subject. The invention also provides a method of detecting the presence of advanced-stage cervical carcinoma in a subject comprising detecting in a cervical cell from the subject the presence of a chromosome abnormality associated with advanced-stage cervical carcinoma; the presence of the cervical cell containing the chromosome abnormality indicating the presence of advanced-stage cervical carcinoma in the subject. The invention also provides a method of classifying the progression of dysplastic cervical cells from a non-invasive cervical carcinoma to an invasive cervical carcinoma comprising analyzing the dysplastic cervical cells for the presence of a chromosome abnormality which is associated with invasive cervical carcinoma, and classifying the dysplastic cervical cells having the chromosome abnormality as having progressed from a non-invasive cervical carcinoma cells to an invasive cervical carcinoma. The invention further provides kits comprising nucleic acids that specifically hybridize to chromosome 3q and specifically hybridize to another chromosome, and to compositions comprising nucleic acids.

An arrangement for sinus evacuation and for taking a sample of bone marrow during a bone marrow aspiration procedure as well as a bone marrow biopsy procedure. By applying a longitudinal movement to the needle when the needle is penetrating the bone the penetration force is reduced which lower the risk of penetrating the posterior cortex or the second sinus wall. The arrangement further includes a stopping element that prevents the needle to penetrate deeper than to a predetermined depth. The arrangement further includes longitudinal movement a stopping element that provides for an active break of the longitudinal movement of the needle when the needle has penetrated down to the predetermined depth.
