    摘要: A surgical tool handle for holding, securing and portioning orthopedic tools is described. The surgical tool handle having a tool attachment mechanism comprising a bias member connected to an actuator. The bias member is positioned within a distal end opening within the handle. Rotation of the actuator causes rotation of the bias member such that when a connection member of a tool, such as a broach, rasp or other cutting tool, is positioned within an opening of the bias member, the bias member wraps around and tightens onto the connection member. Rotating the actuation cable in an opposite direction rotates the bias member in the opposite direction, which thereby releases the tool connection member, and the tool, from the handle.

    摘要: An orthopedic prosthetic impactor used for the implantation of double mobility cup implants is described. The impactor consists of a drive train, a C-shaped housing, and a prosthetic cup engaging subassembly. The subassembly comprises an impaction plate, a primary cup contacting member, a secondary cup contacting member and a wedging assembly. The primary and secondary cup contacting members, contactable with an interior surface of the prosthetic cup implant. When activated by the drive train, the wedging assembly moves in a proximal direction towards the impaction plate, positioning the wedging assembly in a contactable relationship with the primary and secondary members thereby preventing the members and a connected prosthetic implant cup from moving during implantation.

    摘要: A surface protection system comprising a protective sleeve positionable over an orthopedic tool or implant, for example the tapered end of an orthopedioc femoral stem implant to shield the covered surface from exposure to abrasive particles during an automated polishing process is described. The protective sleeve comprises a body having an annular sidewall that extends from a proximal end to a distal end and is composed of a polymeric material. A cavity resides within the body extending through the distal end to a proximal end sidewall positioned perpendicular to the annular sidewall. The protective sleeve further comprises at least one annular recess intermediate at least two annular ridges that reside along an interior surface at the distal end of the sleeve. These series of annular ridges and recesses form a removably tight seal around the exterior surface that minimizes the migration of abrasive polishing particles to the exterior surface of the orthopedic tool or implant. The system further comprises an impactor and extractor tools which facilitate the positioning and removal of the protective sleeve from the surface thereof.
