Abstract: Systems and methods for taxel hyper-resolution output are provided. Tactile sensors contact an object and produce taxel data for each contact made. Taxel data from the tactile sensors is encoded and compared with detailed geometric data of a known object to generate a set of ranked poses. For each pose one or more substantially matching candidate poses from the stored geometric data are generated. Pairs of poses are iteratively compared with pairs of candidate poses to determine the most probable candidate pose for each pose. Taxel hyper-resolution data for determined poses is generated from the detailed geometric data and output for use by downstream systems.

Abstract: A position estimation apparatus includes a microprocessor and a memory. The memory stores beforehand an environmental map as first map information including feature points corresponding to an external situation of a vehicle. The microprocessor is configured to perform: extracting feature points from detection data of a detector configured to detect the external situation; estimating a position of the vehicle, based on the feature points extracted from the detection data and the first map information; determining whether a reliability degree of the estimated position of the vehicle is lower than a predetermined degree; generating second map information by using the feature points extracted from the detection data, in a case where it is determines that the reliability degree is lower than the predetermined degree; and estimating the position of the vehicle, based on the feature points extracted from the detection data and the second map information.

Abstract: The present invention provides a fluoride ion secondary battery which has high initial charge/discharge efficiency, while starting with a charged state and having a high voltage. According to the present invention, a composite body is formed using, as negative electrode active materials, nanometer-sized aluminum particles and modified aluminum fluoride together with the other constituents of a negative electrode mixture, said modified aluminum fluoride having voids that are formed by deintercalation of fluoride ions; and a fluoride ion secondary battery is configured by combining a negative electrode, which uses this composite body, with a positive electrode that contains a specific substance as a positive electrode active material.

Abstract: A heat exchanger includes an inlet header, an outlet header; and a plurality of concentrically arranged bent tubes. The bent tubes extend from the inlet header to the outlet header and are arranged in same plane with the inlet header and the outlet header extending radially outwardly from a location proximate to a central axis of the heat exchanger. Moreover, a diameter of at least one of the plurality of bent tubes is different from a diameter of at least one of remaining bent tubes.

Abstract: A coil molding apparatus being capable of easily forming the band-shaped coil into a wound state, without the winding posture in the coil winding jig being disturbed by spring back of the band-shaped coil. The coil molding apparatus includes: a coil winding jig for winding the band-shaped coil with inserting straight portions thereof into a plurality of comb-shaped grooves in the outer periphery; a coil conveying mechanism unit for pivotally conveying the band-shaped coil along the outer periphery of the coil winding jig; and guide members for inserting the band-shaped coil into the plurality of comb-shaped grooves by guiding in an arc shape while contacting with the side end of the band shaped groove thereby gradually reducing in diameter accompanying pivoting at a second half portion of pivot conveying of the band-shaped coil, then extending with maintaining curvature of the portion of which the diameter has already been reduced.
