Abstract: Digital or analog samples are sent from a video source to a video storage subsystem that encodes the samples into analog levels, stores the analog levels for a period of time, decodes the analog levels back into digital samples and then sends the digital samples to a video sink for display, N samples are encoded into L analog levels for storage. The storage subsystem may be located at the video source, at the video sink, or anywhere in between the two. The storage subsystem may be located on an electromagnetic pathway over which the L encoded analog levels are transmitted from a video source as an analog signal. The L encoded analog levels are written to storage and then later read from storage and retransmitted over the electromagnetic pathway toward a video sink. The storage subsystem may also be integrated with a transmitter that encodes the samples into analog levels for storage or may be integrated with a receiver that stores the analog levels and then decodes the analog levels back into samples. A sentinel track in the storage array detects attenuation or offset which is then compensated for.

Abstract: A wireless transmitter and antenna are provided on the transmit side, and a receiver and an antenna are provided on the receive side. A transmitter receives samples from a video source via media signals, permutes the input samples into input vectors, and encodes each input vector with reference to a set of orthogonal codes to produce analog SSVT signals per encoder. The wireless transmitter modulates the SSVT signals generated by the SSVT transmitter onto one or more carrier frequency signals. Once modulated, the carrier frequency signals are then broadcast by the antenna. On the receive side, the antenna receives the broadcast and provides the modulated carrier signals to the wireless receiver. In response, the wireless receiver demodulates the carrier frequency signals and produces the corresponding analog SSVT signals, which are then decoded into reconstructions of the input media samples into output vectors, which are then permuted into output samples that are sent to a video sink for display.

Abstract: A video stream is encoded using spread spectrum video transport and sent as an analog signal to a display of a VR visor where a decoder integrated with a source driver decodes the analog signal and drives the display. The analog signal is sent wirelessly to the display where it is received, converted to wired format, decoded and displayed. A wireless SSVT analog signal is received at the headset processor and forwarded to the VR visor for reception, conversion, decoding and display. A wireless SSVT analog signal is received at the processor, converted to wired format, sent wirelessly to the display where it is received at a receiver, converted to wired format, decoded and displayed. A video stream is stored in persistent storage on the headset processor using SSVT encoding. The decoder integrated with a source driver of a display is implemented directly on the glass of the display panel.

Abstract: A transmitter includes a distributor that receives a stream of digital video samples and distributes the digital video samples into vectors in a buffer per a permutation. A digital-to-analog converter (DAC) per vector receives from its corresponding vector the digital video samples and converts the digital video samples into analog video samples. Each source driver includes a collector that receives analog video samples from each DAC and stores the analog video samples of the corresponding vector, and amplifiers that receive the stored analog video samples in parallel from the collector and amplifies the stored analog video samples onto a column of the display panel. Synchronization uses modified MFM and sample phase alignment. The source drivers are integrated with the substrate of the display panel using transistors. An AR/VR headset uses analog video transport between processor and visor and transmits and receives wirelessly.

Abstract: A video display unit includes a display panel with gate drivers and source drivers. Each of the source drivers receives an encoded analog signal representing a video stream over a transmission medium and decodes the signal to produce samples for output to the display. Gate driver control signals synchronize the gate drivers with the source drivers. The source drivers are integrated with the display panel glass in part or in whole. Amplifiers and level shifters of each source driver are implemented on the panel glass and the collector and decoder are not. Or, the amplifiers, shifters and collector are implemented on the panel glass and the decoder is not. Or, the amplifiers, shifters, collector and decoder of each source driver are implemented on the panel glass. The source drivers may drive a display of a mobile device. Thin-film transistors are used to implement the source drivers on glass.

Abstract: A timing controller of a display set is integrated with an encoder for transport of analog signals between a display controller and source drivers of the display panel. The timing controller and integrated encoder are within an integrated circuit and are part of a chipset. The integrated circuit is located immediately after the SoC of a display set or is integrated within the SoC. A video signal sent to the timing controller chip is unpacked into sample values which are permuted into vectors of samples, one vector per encoder. Each vector is converted to analog, encoded and the analog levels are sent to the source drivers which decode into analog samples. Or, each digital vector is encoded and then converted to analog. A line buffer uses a memory to present a row of pixel information to the encoders. A mobile telephone has an integrated TCON with SSVT transmitter.

Abstract: Infrastructure electronics equipment incorporates infrastructure Local-Site Transports (LSTs). LSTs convey payload sampled signals over imperfect electromagnetic (EM) pathways whose physical properties are usually unknown when the equipment (e.g., Cameras, Displays, Set-Top Boxes) is manufactured. Prior LSTs hedge against EM pathway degradation in several ways: requiring high-quality cables (e.g., HDMI); restricting transmission distance, (e.g., HDMI); and/or reducing quality, via compression, to extend transmission distance somewhat (e.g., Ethernet). The subject of this disclosure is an infrastructure LST for sampled signals that causes the physical errors inevitably arising from propagation of sensory payloads over imperfect EM pathways to manifest in a perceptually benign manner, leveraging legacy infrastructure and reducing costs to achieve a favorable ratio of fidelity to transmission distance.
