The invention relates to a pressure averager for providing an averaged working pressure from the operating pressures of at least two sources of pressure medium, there being provided to average the operating pressures a differential piston of which the number of step faces which face the same direction and which are of equal size corresponds to the number of operating pressures to be averaged, of which the oppositely directed working face is equal to the sum of the step faces, and which is displaceably guided in a correspondingly stepped housing which is provided with supply lines for the operating pressures, and its object is to develop the pressure averager in such a way that an additional pressure relief valve is not required for its function within a hydraulic installation. This is achieved in that annular grooves in each case associated with a control edge of the respective step faces are provided in the housing, and in that leading away from the annular grooves there are discharge lines which are connected to a common line for the averaged pressure which is connected in turn to the working face.

A double pump unit including two hydraulic pumps (1, 2) having drive shafts (5, 6) arranged coaxially with one another, which shafts are coupled with one another in a force-locking manner by a coupling piece (23). The coupling piece (23) is integrated in a connection piece (26) at least partially surrounding the coupling piece, in which connection piece there are formed suction channels (19, 20) for drawing in the pressure medium to be delivered through the hydraulic pumps (1, 2). The connection piece (26) has an inlet pressure chamber (33) into which the suction channels (19, 20) open. Further, the coupling piece (23) has peripherally arranged blade elements (30, 31) which rotate in the inlet pressure chamber (33) in order to feed the pressure medium into the suction channels (19, 20) under an initial pressure. The connection piece (26) may also be formed in two parts and, along with a main body (27), have a lid-like closure part (29) which is so dimensioned that the coupling piece (23), with its blade elements (30, 31), can be introduced into the main body (27) of the connection piece (26) through an opening (34) which can be closed by the closure piece (29).

In a summation power output regulating system for first and second hydrostatic machines (3, 4), having a common drive and comprising at least two hydrostatic transmissions (1, 2), each of the machines (3, 4) having a hydraulic control device (7, 8), wherein the second machine (4) is provided with a hydraulic power output regulator (24) which regulates the pressure acting on the control device (8) in dependence on the power output of the second machine at that time and a control pressure, dependant on the working pressure of the first machine, is transmitted by means of a hydraulic actuator to the power output regulator (24), substantially 100% utilization of the power available is attained with a simple construction and function by providing the first machine (3) with a power output measuring valve (34; 63, 64) which determines the power output at the time and regulates the control pressure (P.sub.3) in dependence on the power output of the first machine.
