The perpendicular magnetic recording medium includes: a perpendicular magnetic recording layer formed on a substrate; and at least one soft magnetic under-layer formed between the substrate and the perpendicular magnetic recording layer, wherein the soft magnetic under-layer is made from an alloy of a non-magnetic material and a magnetic material which exists in the form of granular nanoparticles in matrix of the non-magnetic material, and at least two of the magnetic nanoparticles are spaced apart from one another by a predetermined distance so as to mutually make an anti-ferromagnetic coupling.

    摘要: A perpendicular magnetic recording head and method of manufacturing the same are provided. The perpendicular magnetic recording head records or reads information on or from a perpendicular magnetic recording medium. The perpendicular magnetic recoding head includes a coil, a main pole, and a return pole. The coil serves as a source for generating a magnetic field. The main pole and the return pole constitute a magnetic path of the magnetic field. The main pole includes an end facing the perpendicular magnetic recording medium. The end includes a leading part serving as a front side and a trailing part serving as a rear side with respect to a movement direction of the perpendicular magnetic recording medium. Both edges of the trailing part are chamfered, and the leading part has a plane inclined with respect to an air-bearing surface (ABS). The return pole has an end spaced from the main pole, and the other end connected with the main pole.

The magnetic recording medium in which a position for magnetic recording is patterned with a magnetic material, includes a magnetic recording layer which includes a data area having a plurality of data tracks, and a servo area having a servo burst for following the data tracks, wherein the servo burst includes a plurality of bursts disposed in a zigzag structure along a downtrack direction, and each of the bursts includes a plurality of burst pieces having different coercivities from each other. The magnetic recording medium is subjected to two servo-recording processes, so that a signal similar to an alternative signal written in a burst having a burst pattern used in a related art continuous medium can be obtained.

The method of manufacturing a micromirror array includes forming an adhesion layer on a substrate and a magnetic layer on the adhesion layer, patterning the adhesion layer and magnetic layer, magnetizing the magnetic layer and forming a bonding layer on each side of the adhesion layer and the magnetic layer. The substrate is severed into units, each unit including the adhesion layer, the magnetic layer, and the bonding layer. A mirror surface is formed on a side of the substrate to form a unit micromirror structure. The unit micromirror structure is then placed in a holder to form a micromirror array.

    摘要: A perpendicular type of magnetic recording medium has a multi-layered recording structure made up of a plurality of ferro-magnetic layers and a non-magnetic layer interposed between the plurality of ferro-magnetic layers, and the perpendicular magnetic anisotropy energy of the lower ferro-magnetic layer is greater than the perpendicular magnetic anisotropy energy of the upper ferro-magnetic layer. Accordingly, the lower ferro-magnetic layer may be easily magnetically reversed by a magnetic field applied during a write operation. Thus, the perpendicular type of magnetic recording medium exhibits an enhanced thermal stability and write-ability.
