    摘要: An improved non-reinforced cellulose film is disclosed. The film is useful as a sausage casing. When exposed to water the casing shrinks in the transverse or circumferential direction, so that the sausages look plump and crease-free and the casing can be peeled easily from the enclosed sausage meat. The film is made by moistening a non-reinforced cellulose film, drawing the film in the transverse direction, and drying the film in the stretched state.

    摘要: A process is provided for coating a substrate with a film which includes at least one vaporizable solvent component and at least one solid component using an electrostatic discharge. A coating solution which includes at least one vaporizable solvent component and at least one solid component is introduced into an atomizing zone and atomized to produce drops. The drops so formed are mixed with an air or gas stream to form an aerosol, subjected to an electrostatic discharge, and blown out of the atomizing zone into a vaporizing zone, where a large portion of the solvent component is vaporized so that the individual drop size of the aerosol is about 50 to 90 percent by volume smaller than the volume of the drop size of the aerosol. Subsequently the aerosol is sprayed onto a charged substrate in an application zone, and then dried so as to fuse the solid components and form a film on the surface of the substrate.

    摘要: An apparatus for drying a liquid film on a substrate web which includes a lower gas or air supply system and an upper gas or air supply system. The substrate strip is subjected to a flow of hot supply air (or gas) without mechanical support of guide elements, which air (or gas) forms a carrying cushion and at the same time supplies drying energy to the liquid layer applied to the substrate. The exhaust air (or exhaust air) is carried away through return channels. Slots for the gas or air supply and the return channels for the gas or air removal are arranged alternately in the lower gas or air supply system. The upper gas or air supply system has a greater width than the lower gas or air supply system. In the upper gas or air supply systen, the supply air or the gas is diverted by baffles onto the substrate and returned over the substrate web as return air or gas. The upper gas or air supply system is subdivided into sections for the supply air and exhaust air or the inflowing gas and outflowing gas, each section including two filter plates of porous material.

    摘要: A web-shaped or tubular packaging film for use in food packaging applications, particularly as a sausage casing, is comprised of a carrier layer based on fiber-reinforced celulose and a closed thermoplastic, sealable resin coating based on copolymers containing vinylidene chloride (VDC) units. To improve the kink resistance, this resin coating is built up from at least two superposed layers, the first resin coating layer adjacent to the carrier layer being composed of a VDC copolymer forming flexible films and the outer, second resin coating layer being composed of a VDC copolymer forming rigid films. The web-shaped film is suitable for the production of tubular packaging casings, in particular sausage casings, with a longitudinal seam.

The thermoplastic sealable resin has a smoke-permeable structure, including linear discontinuities running parallel to one another, and is anchored to the surface of the cellulose film with the aid of an adhesion promoting layer. The resin layer completely coats at least one of two surfaces of the cellulose film. Also disclosed is a casing made of the smoke-permeable film and a method for producing the film.
