    摘要: A method of operating an encoder is provided. The method includes generating predicted spatial-domain block values for current spatial-domain block pixel values, generating residual spatial-domain block values based on differences between the current spatial-domain block pixel values and the predicted spatial-domain block values, calculating a representative value of the residual spatial-domain block values, selecting a quantization parameter corresponding to the representative value from among a plurality of quantization parameters, and quantizing the residual spatial-domain block values using the selected quantization parameter.

    摘要: A rate control method for multi-layered video coding, a video encoding apparatus and a video signal processing system employing the rate control method. In the rate control method for multi-layered video coding, encoding statistical information is generated based on the result of encoding input video data on a first layer. A second rate controller generates a plurality of quantization parameters to be used when encoding is performed on a second layer, based on the encoding statistical information and/or region of interest (ROI) information. Target numbers of bits that are to be respectively assigned to regions of a second layer are determined based on the encoding statistical information and/or ROI information, and the input video data is encoded at the second layer, based on the target numbers of bits.

    摘要: Disclosed herein is mobile middleware, a context monitoring method, a context-aware system, and a context-aware service provision method, which support energy-efficient context monitoring. The mobile middleware receives a request for a CMQ from context-aware application programs, receives sensor data from sensors, monitors whether the CMQ is satisfied, and transmits an event to the context-aware application programs according to results of the monitoring. In this case, the mobile middleware controls the sensors so that only sensor data required to determine whether the CMQ is satisfied needs to be transmitted so as to reduce energy consumption during the performance of the monitoring. Therefore, the mobile middleware can perform energy-efficient context monitoring, required by the context-aware application programs.
