Abstract:
Methods and systems are disclosed for performing operations for estimating power usage of an AR experience. The operations include: accessing resource utilization data associated with execution of an augmented reality (AR) experience; applying a machine learning technique to the resource utilization data to estimate power consumption of the AR experience, the machine learning technique being trained to establish a relationship between a plurality of training resource utilization data associated with training AR experiences and corresponding ground-truth power consumption of the training AR experiences; and adjusting one or more operations of the AR experience to reduce power consumption based on the estimated power consumption of the AR experience.
Abstract:
In a wireless communication terminal, a processor transmits instruction information to a fourth communication device of an external terminal by a second communication device when a first condition and a second condition are satisfied. The instruction information is information for instructing the external terminal to transmit a connection request for the wireless communication terminal. The first condition is a condition that a second communication connection is established between the second communication device and the fourth communication device. The second condition is a condition that the first communication device is operating in a first mode. If the connection request has been received after transmission of the instruction information, the processor establishes a first communication connection with a third communication device of the external terminal by the first communication device.
Abstract:
A technique for controlling a duty cycle of a transmitter in a mobile device is provided. When the mobile device is wirelessly connected to a telecommunications network, discontinuous reception and transmission is provided by a duty cycle including an active state and an inactive state. As to a method aspect of the technique, a switching option for initiating the inactive state after the active state is determined. It is assessed whether a timer of the mobile device triggers a future transmission at a corresponding transmission time. If a time difference between the switching option and the transmission timer exceed a predefined minimum duration, the inactive state is initiated.
Abstract:
A method includes, in a mobile communication terminal that is powered by a DC-DC converter and is operated by a user in accordance with multiple possible usage scenarios, predefining for each of the possible usage scenarios a repective set of one or more parameters of operation for the DC-DC converter. When the user operates the terminal in accordance with a given usage scenario from among the possible usage scenarios, the predefined set of parameters of operation corresponding to the given usage scenario is selected, without physically sensing an electrical current drawn by the DC-DC converter. The DC-DC converter is configured to supply electrical power to the terminal using the selected parameters of operation.
Abstract:
There is provided an information processing apparatus including a mode control unit configured to perform control at least so as to switch a first mode that causes the information processing apparatus to be operated at a first voltage level and a second mode that causes the information processing apparatus to be operated at a second voltage level higher than the first voltage level, and an operation control unit configured to disable certain input operation performed by a user if a state satisfies a certain condition after the mode control unit switches a mode to the second mode.
Abstract:
A method for controlling the activity of a base station entity of a first type in a mobile communication network is a mobile device having a communication link in a base station entity of a second type includes: sending, by the mobile device, a connection request to the base station entity of the second type, the connection request being related to a request of the mobile device to have a communication link with the base station entity of the first type while the base station entity of the first type is in its second operational mode; and activating the first operational mode of the base station entity of the first type and establishing the communication link between the mobile device and the base station entity of the first type established.
Abstract:
The various methods and devices described herein relate to devices which, in at least certain embodiments, may include one or more sensors for providing data relating to user activity and at least one processor for causing the device to respond based on the user activity which was determined, at least in part, through the sensors. The response by the device may include a change of state of the device, and the response may be automatically performed after the user activity is determined.
Abstract:
A wireless device may receive from a source device an instruction to present program content. The wireless device may determine device types missing from an entertainment system based on supporting playback of the program content. A device type missing from the entertainment system may be registered. An instruction may be transmitted to an active source device to increment or decrement a counter. The counter may represent a total number of zones that receives data from the active source device.
Abstract:
Mechanisms are described for providing information to a user regarding a wireless charging operation via the user's mobile terminal. Information may be received from a device engaged in a wireless charging operation, such as the user device being charged and/or the wireless charging plate via which the user device is charged, in response to a trigger. Information such as a charge time remaining, an amount of charge completed, or a charging queue status may be presented by the user's mobile terminal, such as via a display of the mobile terminal and/or through an audible indication provided by a speaker of the mobile terminal. The trigger may be any of a number of user interactions with the device engaged in the wireless charging operation.
Abstract:
A portable terminal apparatus receives an operation instructing that an image displayed on a screen be scrolled, and moves the image in the instructed direction. The apparatus comprising: one or more memories, and circuitry. The circuitry which, in operation,: judges whether or not a display image at an end of scrolling is included in a region of the screen during scrolling and determines, to be a control target region, a region judged not to include the display image at the end of the scrolling of the region of the screen; and performs control of lowering brightness of the control target region on the display image during scrolling.
