摘要: A cooperative radio resource manager operates by: obtaining constraint data indicating a plurality of radio network constraints and channel state information (CSI) corresponding to wireless communications between a plurality of client devices and a plurality of remote radio heads; performing a first sub-problem optimization, subject to the plurality of radio network constraints, to generate an remote radio head (RRH) to client device association that associates a corresponding one of the plurality of remote radio heads to each of the plurality of client devices and further to generate a physical resource block (PRB) allocation that allocates PRBs of each RRH among the plurality of client devices. The cooperative radio resource manager can also operate by performing a second sub-problem optimization, subject to a subset of the plurality of radio network constraints, to generate a power allocation (PA) that allocates power for uplink and downlink transmissions between the plurality of remote radio heads and the plurality of client devices, based on the RRH to client device association and the PRB allocation generated via the first sub-problem optimization, for example. In either case, the cooperative radio resource manager can facilitate fronthaul communications via a radio network interface to control the wireless communications between the plurality of remote radio heads and the plurality of client devices via the RRH to client device association, the PRB allocation and/or the PA.

摘要: A radio network operates by: converting, in accordance with a communication standard, received fronthaul communications from a plurality of radio units (RUs) into backhaul communications transmitted to a communications network, wherein the plurality of radio units are configured to engage in wireless communications with a plurality of user equipment (UEs) via a radio channel of a radio network; converting, in accordance with the communication standard, received backhaul communications from the communications network into fronthaul communications transmitted to the plurality of RUs; providing a shared scheduler associated with a radio channel that is partitioned into a plurality of physical radio blocks (PRBs), wherein the plurality of PRBs are accessible by the plurality of UEs via the RUs; and generating, via the shared scheduler, an UE to PRB to RU allocation that associates ones of the plurality of PRBs to selected ones of the plurality of UEs and selected ones of the plurality of RUs, without a UE to RU pre-allocation, wherein the fronthaul communications control wireless communications between the plurality of UEs and the plurality of RUs, via the UE to PRB to RU allocation.

摘要: A radio access network (RAN) operates by: determining an initial RU/UE association that allocates the plurality of UEs among the plurality of RUs via reference signal received power (RSRP) data received from the plurality of RUs; receiving RU conditions data corresponding to a set of RU conditions associated with the plurality of RUs; receiving RU constraint data associated with the plurality of RUs; assigning, via at least one iterative RU sleeping loop and based on the initial RU/UE association, the RU conditions data and the RU constraint data, an active mode to a first subset of the plurality of RUs and a sleep mode to a second subset of the plurality of RUs; and updating a dynamic RU/UE association based on the first subset of the plurality of RUs and the second subset of the plurality of RUs.
