Abstract: The invention allows the imprinting or stimulating of acupuncture meridians for 5 to 10 minutes through touching, with an index finger for 30 seconds to 2 minutes, a displayed image on a smartphone of reflected scattered light modulated by coherent domains in cardboard card which are modulated by a magnetic field at the acupuncture endogenous frequencies. The image of the reflected scattered light modulated by acupuncture endogenous frequencies can be photographed by a smartphone digital camera on a white cardboard card against a low frequency voice coil with the endogenous frequencies energizing the coil.

Abstract: A steering robot for attachment to a vehicle's steering wheel has its own steering wheel attached to a rotor of an annular motor. The latter has a stator. Fitted to the forward (in use) side of rotor is an annular mounting plate, having three tabs extending slightly inwards for receiving mounting bolts. A clamp formed of a ring having equally spaced around it three slotted radial lugs. The lugs provide attachments for three clamping fixtures, by means of which the clamp can be attached temporarily to the vehicle's steering wheel. The stator has a pair of torque reaction lugs via which steering torque exerted by the motor to effect a steering maneuver under test or investigation can be reacted. The steering robot is open-centered, whereby steering wheel mounted controls can be operated normally.

Abstract: A water heater is shown having a closed metal tank with an upwardly mounted combustion chamber and burner/blower assembly. Curved fire tubes convey the products of combustion from the chamber to an exterior mounted flue assembly. The closed tank is enclosed by a rotomolded jacket. A support stand with vertically arranged support legs supports the tank in a normally vertical position but also allows the tank to be pivoted to a horizontal position on the support stand for maintenance or repair operations.

Abstract: An improved system for passenger safety in a front-end vehicle collision, whereby the kinetic energy of a passenger may be reduced before the passenger is exposed to the crash deceleration. An electrical sensor mounted at the extreme front end of the vehicle senses the onset of a front-end collision and sends a crash signal to the passenger compartment. Preferably, the sensor is a normally-closed momentum-activatable switch. A passenger seat is mounted on translating means permitting rearward motion and has a harness to secure a passenger to the seat. The seat is held in place by a shearable pin. Beneath the seat, attached between the floor of the vehicle and the frame of the seat, is a linear actuator powered by an explosive charge which is ignitable electrically in response to the crash signal. Upon firing of the actuator, a guillotine edge on the seat frame shears the pin, and the seat and passenger are thrust rapidly rearward so that the passenger is travelling rearward with respect to the vehicle and more slowly forward with respect to the ground. Thus, the kinetic energy of the passenger is reduced and the intensity of his deceleration from the crash pulse is minimized. The seat back and cushion may be hinged for rotation backwards on the seat frame. A second explosive actuator causes rotation about the hinge coincident with the rearward translation of the frame. Rotation of the seat can orient the passenger more favorably to withstand the remaining shock of the crash pulse.

Abstract: A droplet deposition apparatus, such as an inkjet printhead, is disclosed. The apparatus includes an array of fluid chambers, where each chamber has a nozzle and a piezoelectric actuator element that causes droplets to be released on-demand from the nozzle in an ejection direction. The array of chambers extends in an array direction, which is perpendicular to the ejection direction. The apparatus also includes a common inlet manifold, which supplies fluid to the array of chambers, and may also include a common outlet manifold, which receives fluid from the array of chambers; both the inlet manifold and, where present, the outlet manifold are elongate in the array direction and extend the length of the array of chambers. The apparatus also includes a flow restrictor passage, which extends the length of the array of chambers in the array direction. This may either: connect the inlet manifold to the array of chambers so that during use fluid can flow along the length of the common inlet manifold, through the flow restrictor passage, then through said array of fluid chambers, and then into and along the length of said common outlet manifold; or, in situations where a common outlet manifold is provided, it may connect the array of chambers to the outlet manifold so that during use fluid can flow along the length of the common inlet manifold, through the array of fluid chambers, then through the first flow restrictor passage, and then into and along the length of the common outlet manifold. When a cross-section taken perpendicular to the array direction is viewed, the flow restrictor, and the manifold to which it is connected, are shaped such that the flow restrictor appears as a narrow, elongate passage linking that manifold to the chambers. The flow restrictor passage presents sufficient impedance to fluid flow such that, in use, fluid within it that is adjacent to the array of chambers is directed generally perpendicular to the array direction for substantially all of the chambers in the array.
