    摘要： In a communication system, a method for providing a location service with geographical location information associated with a user equipment capable of communicating with the communication system is disclosed. The method includes the steps of: storing connection information identifying a connection of the user equipment in the communication system; and determining whether the user equipment is currently connected in the network. Wherein, responsive to the user equipment not currently being connected in the network, the location of the user equipment is determined in dependence on the last stored connection information for the user equipment. The method also includes the step of translating the connection information into geographical coordinates.

In the method an area even notification request is received at a location service entity provided in association with the communication system, the area event notification request containing information associated with the identity of the mobile station and an area of interest. Monitoring for an even indicative of a change in the presence status of the mobile station relative to said area of interest is then activated. A notification is signalled in response to detection of such event.

    摘要： An emergency telephone call is supported and routed to a Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) in an IP based packet switched wireless communications network. An activate PDP context request is sent from a user equipment to the network. A parameter in the activate PDP context request indicates that the PDP context will be used to transfer an emergency call. An activate PDP context accept message is returned from the support node to the user equipment. The activate PDP context accept message acknowledges the activate PDP context request message and provides the address of a call state control function. A call setup request transferred to the call state control function includes the Service Area Identity (SAI). The call state control function selects a PSAP based, at least in part, on the SAI included in the call setup request and forwards the emergency call to the selected PSAP.
