    Abstract: A microwavable material having a structure that may be used to enhance the browning and crisping, and thus improve the taste and appearance, of a food item cooked therein. The material may be in the form of a sheet material or formed as a container such as a bag, pouch, or other suitable structure. The material may have one or more features that help bring the material into close contact with the food item and help conform the bag around the food item. Furthermore, the material may have a structure that avoids substantial contact with liquid released by a food item, may have a venting system suitable for the exiting of moisture, may have a coating, a transparent surface, and when formed as a container, may have a gusseted surface.

    Abstract: A cellular alert device according to the present invention notifies a user that a cellular call is being received by an associated cellular telephone even when the alert device is not in close proximity or in data communication with the associated telephone. The cellular alert device includes a receiver for acquiring the same cellular paging signal that is also received by an associated cellular telephone. The alert device also includes a processor and an alarm such that the processor actuates the alarm when the receiver acquires a paging signal that is the same as that received by the associated telephone. The alert device and telephone are “associated” in that they both have the same mobile identification code.

The base 104 includes a second closure portion 212. The first closure portion 310 of the cover 102 is sealingly engageable with the second closure portion 212 of the base 104 to define a sealed storage area. Multiple covers 102 stack together in two different ways. First, the covers 102 may be stacked into an “aligned” stack. Second, the covers 102 may be stacked into a locked stack. The alignment portion of the cover 102 is engageable with the alignment portion of a second cover to form an aligned cover stack. The engagement portion 310 of the cover 102 is receivingly engageable by the engagement portion 308 of a second cover 602 to form a locked cover stack 728.

    Abstract: The present invention consists of an inexpensive tight sealing plastic container suited for microwave cooking, top-shelf dishwashing and freezer use. In accordance with a preferred embodiment, the container is provided with two compartments, one large and one small. The container utilizes a dual cut-back closure device of which the retaining bead of the container bottom maintains the container top in a secure position. The inside dimensions of the container top are slightly larger than the container bottom in both compartments. The difference in sizes provides an interference fit and forms a substantially leak proof seal along the inside perimeter of both compartments of the container. The container top provides at least one gripping tab, which facilitates the separation of the container top from the container bottom and permit container venting. In accordance with one embodiment of the invention, the container top is provided with two gripping tabs with one gripping tab allocated to each of the two compartments. In accordance with another embodiment, the closure devices on the container top and bottom are widened at the comer regions.

    Abstract: A venting container including a lid and base having an inner cavity and a side wall that terminates in a rim, the lid including a central panel and a peripheral sealing lip that surrounds the panel, the peripheral sealing lip having a generally inverted U-shaped cross section that defines a lid channel into which the container rim fits, the sealing lip including at least one venting feature in the form of a flexible venting button that is adapted to transition from a first position to a second position upon application of an actuation force, the venting button being further adapted and positioned whereby when the container rim is positioned in the lid channel and the venting button is in the first position, sealed engagement of the lid to the container is effectuated and when the venting button is in the second position a venting air passage is provided from the container cavity to the container surroundings.
