摘要:
A secure switching system that utilizes radio frequency identification (RFID) technology to allow only authorized users to access a remote management or keyboard, video, mouse (KVM) switching system. The system includes a plurality of user workstations that allow a user to select, monitor, and operate remote devices using a local keyboard, video monitor, and cursor control device. Coupled to or integrated with the system is an RFID transceiver that detects the presence of RFID tags that are within range of communications. A user workstation is only operable if the RFID transceiver detects a valid RFID tag.
摘要:
An association between a system's in-band identification credentials with out-of-band identification credentials may arise by making a universal serial bus device emulation in the form of either a virtual mass storage device or a virtual network adaptor. In the case of the former, a machine readable name is decoded to determine which KVM port a target device is connected to. Such can be used to associate a system's known in-band identification credentials with decoded out-of-band identification credentials from the virtual mass storage device. In the case of the latter, the target may be searched and queried through an out-of-band path to ascertain in-band identification credentials.
摘要:
Disclosed is an end-to-end wireless solution for accessing, monitoring, and controlling remote devices, such as critical server systems, utilizing a mesh topology scheme via a short range, high throughput wireless connection. The present invention provides superior propagation in a multi-path environment as well as a low-power, non-intrusive solution to remotely access and control of a variety of devices. Further, the present invention enables portable management of the remote devices connected within the system.
摘要:
The present invention provides an intelligent, digital, modular remote target device management system for coupling a series of remote target devices to one or more user workstations to allow each user workstation to selectively access and control one or more remote target devices. The target device management system incorporates a centralized switching system that receives keyboard, cursor control device, audio, and input/output module device signals from the user workstation and transmits and applies the signals to the remote target device in the same manner as if the keyboard, cursor control device, audio input source, or input/output module device of the user workstation were directly coupled to the remote target device. Also, the remote target device management system digitally transmits the signals.

Disclosed is a remote computer or server management system for coupling a series of remote computers to one or more user workstations and providing an enhanced user interface for the selection, monitoring and control of a plurality of remote computers or servers by each workstation. Preferably, the user workstations include a keyboard, cursor control device, and video monitor through which a local user can select a remote computer for control through a central switch. The local workstation includes a general purpose processor programmed to display an enhanced graphical user interface (“GUI”) through which a local user can efficiently locate a remote computer for control. The GUI may also provide status indications for all servers, and may group the servers in an intelligent manner to aid the user in efficient location of the desired server.
