    摘要: A method for retrofitting a downhole drill string with a flow through subassembly having a hollow outer body or barrel with a plurality of outwardly extending blades. Fluid flow inlets are provided in the lower section of the body below the blade openings and flow outlets are provided in an upper section above the blades. A fluid flow bypass channel is formed in the outer body and extends between said blades and from said fluid inlet to said fluid outlet. Drilling fluids outside of the subassembly may flow through the inlet, up the fluid flow bypass channel and out the outlet thereby bypassing any plug or pack-off formed between the subassembly and the well bore. Thus, an existing subassembly may be retrofitted to provide a fluid flow bypass channel around the blades.

Water is forced through a central channel in the rotating shaft and discharged from the housing. A portion of the discharged water is directed to deflection fins on the outer surface of the housing to further impart rotational or energy to the rotating shaft.

    摘要: A method for controlling the ascent and descent of a tubular member passing through a pipe or casing slip into a well bore. A float control member is affixed beneath the top surface of the pipe or casing slip. The control member is activated to control the raising or lowering of the tubular member. A piston within a cylinder housing is positioned below the top surface of the slip. As the tubular member is lowered, but before there is significant weight on the supporting structure, the piston is moved to its maximum height extension. Once the slips are set and the weight of the tubular member is applied to the slips, the piston begins to descend in the cylinder housing floating the final descent of the string. The string may be raised by activating a pump to force fluid within the housing chamber, raising the piston and thereby raising or lifting the string.

    摘要: A conduit cleaning or clearing apparatus and method has a housing assembly connectable to a pipeline. The housing has an inlet and outlet leg joined by a bight portion. A cleaning member is rotatably disposed within the housing and may be rotated from a first unobstructing position to a second cleaning position. In the cleaning position, a plurality of spaced apart blades are able to contact and loosen any build-up in the bight portion. A wiping paddle on the cleaning member urges the loosen build-up out the outlet leg and through the drain line. The paddle cooperates with a locator seat on the housing to retain the cleaning member in an unobstructing position when not cleaning or clearing the bight.

    摘要: A subassembly for a downhole drill string has a hollow outer body or barrel with a plurality of blade openings. A plurality of blade sets extends outwardly through the openings. Fluid flow inlets are provided in the lower section of the body below the blade openings and flow outlets are provided in an upper section above the blade openings. An annular spaced apart support mandrel extends through the hollow section of body and supports and retains the blades in the openings. An annular fluid flow passage is provided through the annular space. Drilling fluids outside of the subassembly may flow through the inlet, up the annular fluid flow passage, and out the outlet thereby bypassing any plug or pack-off formed between the subassembly and the well bore. An existing subassembly may be retrofitted to provide a fluid flow bypass channel around the blades. The existing subassembly is provided with inlets below and outlets above the blades. The bypass channel is then formed between the blades.

A latching collet having teeth positively interlocks with spline teeth affixed to the inner wall of the upper sleeve. A hydraulic valve assembly is attached to the lower sleeve and is activated by fluid in one of a plurality of separate fluid chambers which communicate with and inflate the separate packers.

    摘要: An electromagnetic engine including a plurality of pistons and a plurality of corresponding electromagnets. The pistons are each connected to a crankshaft and fabricated of a ferrous material. The electromagnets are spaced from the pistons in alignment therewith. An electrical power source is provided to power the electromagnets, and a control assembly is provided to control the sequence of energizing the electromagnets, so that by energizing the electromagnets, the pistons will be pulled toward the electromagnets in response to a timely applied electromagnetic field. The force imparted on the piston is transmitted by the rod to the crankshaft, which provides power via an output shaft for desired uses.
