    摘要: A compact housing for a dedusting apparatus utilizes a magnetic flux field to disrupt the static charge attracting dust particles to product particles, which along with fluidization and counter current airflow principles that are proven to dislodge dust particles from the product, provides a highly efficient, compact deduster. The housing supports a double wash deck with product flow separated between the back-to-back primary wash decks. A deflector directing the flow of product onto the primary wash decks is provided with an extension that extends parallel to the wash deck to eliminated product bouncing off of the wash deck. The lower air outlets are eliminated, while the upper air outlets are positioned in extensions to the main housing above the product inlet opening. Air flow through the Venturi zone is enhanced by re-directing clean air directly to the backside of the Venturi panels, thereby eliminating the extraneous by-pass boxes.

    摘要: An elbow fitting for use in a pneumatic product conveying system expands from the inlet pipe along the outer side of the elbow fitting and contracts along the outer side of the fitting toward the outlet pipe for guiding product particles into the outlet pipe. The expanded structure of the elbow fitting defines a generally triangularly shaped configuration that provides a wide surface over which an accumulated layer of product particles moves at a lower velocity than the velocity of the incoming product stream. The accumulation layer of product forms a moving contact surface for deflecting incoming product particles toward the outlet pipe with a minimum of pressure resistance and product attrition. The configuration of the expanded elbow fitting provides a slowly moving layer of accumulated product particles due to the law of gravity and Bernoulli's Law.

    摘要: The impurity laden particulate material to be cleaned by a gravity feed deduster is passed through a magnetic field of varying intensity to neutralize the static charge causing the impurities to adhere to the primary product. The material is then subjected to air flows to separate the neutralized debris from the primary product. The air flows can be of high velocity and can be either pressurized air or vacuum induced. The cleaned product is collected and the contaminated air is treated to recover the debris therefrom.

    摘要: A compact dedusting apparatus is mounted on the machine utilizing particulate material requiring contaminant cleansing to provide an economical and effective decontamination of particulate material immediately before utilization of the material. The dedusting apparatus includes a downwardly sloped infeed chute having an opening at the bottom thereof. A metering device in the form of a rotatable finned hub blocks the opening to constantly meter the flow of particulate material through the dedusting apparatus. The metering device is formed with flexible blades oriented at a slight angle to the slope of the infeed chute to provide a constant flow of material through the opening. A flow of air is directed through a wash deck positioned below the infeed chute to cleanse the particulate material. The air flow is directed along multiple paths including a path defining an air knife associated with the wash deck to facilitate the cleansing of the material.

    摘要: An elbow fitting is used in a pneumatic product conveying system in which the fitting expands from the inlet pipe along the outer side of the elbow fitting to enable a layer of accumulated product particles to be formed so as to move at a lower velocity than the velocity of the incoming product stream while establishing a moving contact surface for deflecting incoming product particles toward the outlet pipe with a minimum of pressure resistance and product attrition. The accumulated product particles are discharged from the elbow fitting by incorporating a step in the outer surface of the elbow fitting to create a Bernoulli effect causing the accumulated product particles to enter the air flow after the incoming flow of product particles has ceased. The particles in the accumulated layer are replenished from the incoming flow during operation of the elbow fitting.

    摘要: A cleaning head for a vacuum sweeper that incorporates a magnetic flux generator that bathes the area of carpet being engaged by the rotating brush beater in the cleaning head with a pulsing magnetic field. The magnetic flux generator disrupts the static attraction between opposing charged small particles and the carpet fibers to which the small particles are attached to allow the brush beater apparatus in the cleaning head to separate the small particles from the carpet fibers. The dislodged small particles, including allergens, bacteria and mold spores, are removed from the carpet in the air stream created by the vacuum sweeper and captured by a micro-filter filtration system. The magnetic flux field is created with the conventional household current that powers the operation of the vacuum cleaner without requiring the generation of high voltages or an electrostatic discharge from the cleaning head.

    摘要: A method and apparatus for collecting and removing dust from dust laden air has a housing defining a chamber having an inlet for the dust laden air, a first outlet for dust free air and a second outlet for the collected dust, the inlet and second outlet being connected by a curved wall. A filter cartridge is mounted in the chamber at the axis of the curved wall and is at least partially enclosed within and inner wall which, together with the outer wall forms a cyclonic passage for the air passing therethrough. High velocity air flow is directed into the chamber wherein at least some of the dust will strike the chamber wall at high velocity causing a rapid change in kinetic energy and detraining the dust from the air, this dust then falling from the air stream and removed from the chamber through an air lock or similar device. The air then revolves around and is drawn through the filter removing the remaining dust therefrom. Periodically, bursts of reverse flow air are sent through segments of the filter to cause dust lodged therein to be reentrained in the flowing air and carried to the dust exit.
