Abstract:
The present invention relates to a chewing gum having a high Surface Area to Volume ratio (SAV ratio), wherein said chewing gum comprises a water insoluble gum base matrix, a water soluble bulk portion and nicotine, wherein the gum base matrix, nicotine and the bulk portion are mixed and extruded to form a final extruded chewing gum product having a SAV ratio above 0.7, and wherein sustained release of nicotine is facilitated by adding 0.1-10% of C8-C10 triglycerides by weight of the chewing gum.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method of cleaning a surface (1) attached with at least one chewing gum lump (2) whereby said cleaning is at least partly based on an enzymatic degradation of at least one biodegradable polymer in said chewing gum lump (2) and whereby said enzymatic degradation is initiated by the application of at least one enzyme to which said at least one polymer forms substrate and whereby said at least one enzyme is added to said chewing gum lump (2) subsequent to chewing and attachment of said chewing gum lump (2) to said surface (1).
Abstract:
A chewing gum includes a polyester having as polyester-forming components in condensed form: (a) a dicarboxylic acid, (b) a diol and (c) a compound having at least three groups capable of ester formation in an amount of from 0.1 to 10.0% by weight, based on the total weight of components (a), (b) and (c). The polyester includes components (a) and (b) in an amount of at least 90% by weight, based on the total weight of the polyester. The chewing gum includes the polyester in an amount of at least 5% by weight of the chewing gum. The chewing gum further includes a sweetening agent and/or a flavoring agent in an amount of 10 to 95% by weight of the chewing gum. The molar ratio between aromatic acids and aliphatic acids of the dicarboxylic acid is between 0 and 1:4.2.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a chewing gum comprising at least one polyethylene (PE) polymer in an amount from about 15% to about 99% by weight of the elastomeric polymer content of said chewing gum, at least one synthetic elastomer chosen from the group of Polyisobutylene (PIB), Butyl Rubber, Polyisoprene and Styrene Butadiene Rubber (SBR) in an amount from about 1% to about 85% by weight of the elastomeric polymer content of said chewing gum and wherein said at least one polyethylene polymer has a molecular weight (Mw) above 25,000 g/mol.

Abstract:
A chewing gum composition includes at least one biodegradable gum base polymer, at least one sweetener and at least one flavor, the composition having low tack effected by a plurality of side chains attached to the backbone of at least one gum base polymer.
Abstract:
A packaged confectionary product includes a biodegradable chewing gum composition and a package assembly forming a humidity barrier to the biodegradable chewing gum composition. According to an embodiment of the invention significant reduction of pre-degradation of gum polymers may be obtained if the confectionary product is encapsulated within a package assembly which includes a humidity barrier to the chewing gum composition contained in the package.
