摘要： A liquid crystal display includes a first substrate; a second substrate facing the first substrate; a pair of field generating electrodes disposed on at least one of the first and the second substrates; and a liquid crystal layer disposed between the first and the second substrates; wherein the liquid crystal layer includes a liquid crystal composition including a polar compound, the polar compound including a compound represented by Formula 1: wherein A represents X is a halogen, R1 is a substituted or unsubstituted C1-C10 alkyl group or a substituted or unsubstituted C1-C10 alkoxy group and R2 is a C1-C5 alkyl group or a C1-C5 alkoxy group.

摘要： A liquid crystal display includes a first substrate, a second substrate, and a liquid crystal layer disposed between the first substrate and the second substrate. The first substrate includes a first base substrate, a pixel electrode disposed on the first base substrate and including a plurality of branch portions, and a first alignment layer disposed on the pixel electrode. The second substrate includes a second base substrate, a common electrode disposed on the second base substrate, and a second alignment layer disposed on the common electrode.
