Abstract:
A method for determining a power capability for a battery includes the step of defining at least one equation based on a circuit model for the behavior of the battery. The equation includes a plurality of battery parameters, including a battery current. The value of at least one of the battery parameters is measured, and the battery current is solved-for from the at least one equation. A limiting battery current is defined based at least in part on the battery current. A limiting battery voltage is determined, and the power capability of the battery is determined based on the limiting battery current and the limiting battery voltage.
Abstract:
A refresh rate adjustment method automatically adjusts a refresh rate of a monitor connected to a computer to a default refresh rate, in response that a detected keystroke signal is a predefined keystroke signal. The method further detects a refresh rate range that is supported by the monitor, detects a new refresh rate input signal from the input device, and determines if the new refresh rate falls within the refresh rate range that is supported by the monitor. If the new refresh rate falls within the refresh rate range that is supported by the monitor, the method automatically adjusts the refresh rate of the monitor with the new refresh rate. Otherwise, the method prompts a user to input the new refresh rate again by displaying a dialog box on the monitor.
Abstract:
Method, computer program product, and system for transferring data from positional data sources to partitioned databases are provided. A record is read from a positional data source. The record is to be written to one of a plurality of partitions of a database. A position of the record in the positional data source is obtained. A transaction is initiated to write the record to the one partition and to store the position of the record in the database. The transaction is committed after the record is successfully written to the one partition and the position of the record is successfully stored in the database.
Abstract:
A method for controlling a hybrid powertrain system includes the steps of determining a first power state of the hybrid powertrain system, limiting electrical power generated by a generator to the minimum of the rated power limit of the generator and the first power state, when the first power state is greater than zero, and limiting the electrical power generated by the generator to zero, and limiting the power limit of an electric machine during generating to a first operating condition of the hybrid powertrain system, when the first power state is less than or equal to zero, to provide over-charge protection to the battery. The method further includes steps that provide over-discharge protection to the battery.
Abstract:
The present invention is to provide a method of combining and showing short messages sent to or received from a telephone number, which comprises the steps of configuring the cellular phone to sequentially combine a plurality of short messages sent to or received from the telephone number based on time of occurring; storing the combination in a memory of the cellular phone; reading the combination from the memory for reviewing contents of the short messages according to the corresponding telephone number; and showing the contents of the combined short messages on a display of the cellular phone.
Abstract:
Systems and methods for setting up grid voltage for a tandem pin charging device for charging a photoreceptor in a xerographic printing machine. A charge-generating emitter ratio of a first charging unit is determined and a first grid voltage is set based on the charge-generating emitter ratio of the first charging unit. A charge-generating emitter ratio of a offset voltage is then determined and a second grid voltage is set, based on the determined charge-generating emitter ratio of the offset voltage. A final voltage of a photoreceptor is then compared with a final target voltage.
Abstract:
A cost-effective fiberoptic endotracheal intubation aid that comprises a petalled tubular stylet, a medial member and a compress device is disclosed. The petalled tubular stylet is a section of tube made of malleable material and has a proximal end splitted into multiple longitudinal petals of certain length. The medial member is a resilient thin flat sheet with edge curb and the compress device is a clamp-like device.Such an intubation aid can be easily used in combination with conventional flexible fiberoptic bronchoscope and conventional endotracheal tube (E.T.). It will make the flexible insertion probe of F.O. bronchoscope as firm, preformable and manipulatable as a regular solid-wire stylet. Intubators using the present invention are able to visualize patient's pharynx area and simultaneously manipulate the tubular stylet for guiding E.T. into patient's trachea to a desired location.
Abstract:
In a database processing system with a partitioned database that provides relational extenders to support storage of and access to complex data types, metadata table rows are collocated with corresponding relational table partitions. Image indexes are generated and stored at system nodes with their corresponding relational table partitions. Image query processing is conditioned to account for the partitioned structure of the database.
Abstract:
A cosmetic pencil and sharpener comprises a cap and pencil portion having a sharpened head on a first end portion, an elongated body and a second end portion. The cap includes a recess at one end to engage and cover the pencil head, an intermediate portion and a second closed end portion. The intermediate portion includes a raised angular section located adjacent a longitudinal slot in the cap wall. A blade is mounted to the angular section and extends downwardly into the slot. Rotation of the pencil sharpens the head against the blade while shavings drop outwardly from the slot.
Abstract:
An LED display blood pressure meter comprising a transmitter, a receiver, a sensor, an amplifying circuit, a transferring circuit, a microprocessor and three display circuits. When measuring human blood pressure, the blood pressure values are sensed and transferred into electronic analog signals by the sensor. The analog signals are amplified by the amplifying circuit and transferred into digital signals by the transferring circuit. The digital signal is then received and processed by the microprocessor which drives the display circuits to display the ascending/descending of the blood pressure values by means of LED array and show the high and low blood pressure values in digital pattern by means of LED displays. The high and low blood pressure values are latched by means of a transmitter and a receiver in remotely controlling manner so as to be stably displayed in a display panel.
