    摘要: A pipeline inspection system in which a vehicle, which has sensors to detect flaws in the pipeline, is moveable within the pipeline by a fluid flowing in the pipeline, and wherein a speed control for the vehicle is provided by a braking device which imposes a continuous axial drag on the pipeline wall. This continuous axial drag is adjustable between upper and lower limits such that the summation of the variable drag characteristics of the pipeline and the imposed drag remains approximately constant and the vehicle will move at a speed substantially equal to the average flow velocity of the fluid in the pipeline.

    摘要: A winch mechanism of the deep lift type comprises a variable displacement hydraulic pump/motor which is adjusted so as to support from a ship or the like via a rope haulage mechanism a submerged load under the influence of pressurized hydraulic fluid which is stored at a substantially constant pressure in a high pressure accumulator and in a low pressure accumulator. As the ship rises and falls, forces on the submerged load are sufficient to maintain the load substantially stationary with hydraulic fluid being passed via the pump/motor between the two accumulators. Lifting is accomplished by a pump which circulates hydraulic fluid through the pump/motor.

    摘要: A winch mechanism of the surface compensating type for lifting objects from the surface of the sea comprises two or more variable pressure constant displacement hydraulic pump/motors coupled to drive a rope haulage mechanism; a pump connected for pumping operating fluid to the hydraulic pump/motors; a fluid accumulator branched from the high pressure fluid supply line from the pump to the pump/motors; and first and second non-return valves. The first non-return valve is in the high pressure fluid supply line between the fluid accumulator and the pump/motors to limit the flow of fluid from the accumulator to one only of the pump/motors, and the second non-return valve is between the high pressure fluid line and a low pressure fluid return line to permit the other pump/motor(s) to act as a pump.
