摘要: In one embodiment, an improved graphics data cache prefetcher includes a cache prefetch unit and a prefetch determination unit (PDU). The PDU determines if there is space available to retrieve some or all of the resources for an upcoming graphics operation while a current graphics operation is processed and whether the retrieval can be performed without impacting the performance of the current operation. If there is space available to retrieve some or all of the upcoming operation's resources into one or more GPU caches the prefetch determination unit programs the cache prefetch unit to retrieve the data into the one or more caches before performing the upcoming operation.
