摘要： A method for sensing separation of a carriage from a home position and compensating the home position by using a program stored at a microprocessor of an ink jet printer includes a home position separation sensing process which has the steps of: checking whether or not the ink jet printer is in a stop state and the carriage is placed at the home position; checking whether or not the carriage placed at the home position is separated from the position by sensing the state change of a photo sensor; and setting a flag according to the state change of the photo sensor, and a home position separation state compensating process which has the steps of: checking whether or not a flag has been set; if it is checked that the flag has been set, counting time to maintain the present state for a predetermined time; resetting the home position if the counted time exceeds the predetermined time; checking whether or not an ink cartridge is attached to the carriage; if it is checked that the ink cartridge is attached to the carriage, compensating the position of the carriage tocorresponds to the reset home position; and after completion of the compensating step, clearing all related flags.

摘要： A method for correcting scanning errors in a shuttle type of a scanner, including the steps of scanning a pattern sheet on which pattern data having a specified shape are recorded. Errors for decline of the pattern data are corrected by using the pattern data having a straight line among the scanned pattern data having the specified shape. Then, errors for distance between bands are corrected by using the pattern data having the specified shape among the pattern data of which the errors for decline are corrected. Accordingly, since the errors for decline and the errors for distance between the bands can be corrected by using a computing program, there is an advantage in that correcting the errors of the pattern data is very simple. A further advantage is in that even if the scanner is subjected to an impact from its exterior, correcting the errors for decline and the errors for distance between the bands can be promptly performed.

The object of this invention is to prevent drying of nozzles without moving the micro injecting device to a maintenance location and spraying a small amount of ink during a printing operation. The printer includes a plurality of micro injecting devices provided with a plurality of nozzles that receive nozzle drive data to drive the nozzles and spray ink; a plurality of micro injecting device drivers that provide the nozzle drive data for controlling the spraying of the nozzles and making the ink inside the nozzles move up and down; a carriage that is mounted with the plurality of micro injecting devices and reciprocates side to side above the paper; a control section that drives the unused micro injecting device among the plurality of micro injecting devices to make the ink move up and down. Accordingly, nozzle drying is prevented without moving the micro injecting device to a maintenance location and spraying a small amount of ink during a print operation.
