摘要： This invention provides utilizes a centering device located in the accumulation portion of mail production equipment to reduce jamming caused by the insertion of material into an open envelope. The apparatus of this invention is located in the accumulation area of production mail equipment before the inserter. The apparatus of this invention includes: two guides; a solenoid and a flexible wire cable. Two centering guides are actuated through a solenoid and move to a predetermined center position to align and deskew the accumulated enclosure contents (which may include printed and pre-printed folded sheets, business reply envelopes and other insert material). A flexible wire cable is used to provide highly efficient transfer of motion from the solenoid to the centering guides.

摘要： An envelope ejecting apparatus is disclosed for use in an inserting machine in which envelopes are fed successively in one direction along a feed path to a first location and then are moved incrementally in a reverse direction to an insert receiving position at which envelope throat opening devices open the throats of the envelopes so that insert material can be fed thereinto. The envelope ejecting apparatus is connected to the throat opening devices for operation therewith and also to the means for feeding the envelopes in the reverse direction, and there is a control means operatively interconnected between the envelope throat opening means and the envelope ejecting means for preventing the envelope ejecting means from ejecting the envelope until it is positioned at the insert receiving position and insert material has been inserted thereinto.

The apparatus includes: a deck for transporting a plurality of envelopes from an upstream location to a downstream location; a translatable carriage mounted to the deck and adjustable for upstream and downstream movement to accommodate different size envelopes; a yoke pivotably mounted at its upstream end to the carriage, the yoke having a stopping finger projecting upwardly at its downstream end; a solenoid located beneath the finger and mounted to the carriage; and a device engaging the solenoid and the yoke for moving the finger up above the deck and down below the deck, wherein, when the solenoid raises the finger above the deck, the stopping finger is locked in a raised position with no pressure bearing on the solenoid.

摘要： A mechanism for releasably latching an assembly which is pivotable between first and second side frame members in a machine, comprises a pivot rod mounted transversely between the first and second side members and pivotally biased away from the assembly. First and second levers are rigidly secured to the pivot rod at opposite ends of the pivot rod, and first and second latching members are independently and pivotally mounted to the first and second side frame members adjacent to the first and second levers respectively. The first and second latching members are biased towards the assembly. Each of the first and second latching members includes a notch for receiving a connecting rod in the assembly. Each of the first and second levers includes a guide pin for urging the first and second latching members away from the assembly when the first and second levers pivot towards the assembly.

摘要： The present invention is embodied in an inserting machine which feeds documents, inserts and envelopes. The sheet feeder comprises a frame, including a feed deck for holding a stack of sheets to be fed; and a separator wheel assembly, including at least one separator wheel, adjustably mounted to the frame above the feed deck. A motor is mounted adjacent to the wheel assembly for directly driving the separator wheel. Separator means for cooperating with the separator wheel assembly to restrict the feeding to single sheets is mounted to the frame opposite the separator wheel assembly and extends in-part above the feed deck. In another embodiment of the present invention, the direct drive motor is positionable on either side of the separator wheel assembly for achieving offset feeding adjustments of the separator wheel assembly. In a further embodiment of the present invention, the separator wheel assembly is spring biased for adjusting its position above the feed deck by means an indexing wheel to a position commensurate with the characteristics of the material being fed.

摘要： An apparatus for applying moisture to a flexible document containing water-activated adhesive includes a buckle chute having a pair of opposing plates defining a document path therebetween, a stopping bar situated between the opposing plates, and an adjustable plate slidably mounted on one of the opposing plates. A moistening assembly is secured to the adjustable plate situated adjacent to one of the buckle chute plates on one side of the document path. The moistening assembly includes a reservoir and a wick secured to the reservoir and extending toward the document path. A hammer/gate unit is pivotably mounted to the adjustable plate on the other side of the document path for engaging the wick and urging the document against the wick. The hammer/gate unit is pivotable between a position adjacent to the moistening assembly for moistening operation and a non-moistening position remote from the moistening assembly.

摘要： The invention is a method and apparatus for correcting the natural nock travel of a compound bow. The bow has a cable guard rod attached to a riser supporting a cable slide at an angle to the nock travel path. The rod has a distal portion attached to the riser, a central portion angled upward relative to the distal portion, and, a proximal portion angled downward so as to form an exterior angle falling within the range of 25-40° between the proximal and distal portions of the cable guard rod. The bow has a cam mounted on an upper limb, a cam mounted on a lower limb, and two cables which are connected to the first cam, pass through the cable slide, and are connected to the second cam. There is also a bow string connected between the cams which can be drawn rearward then released to provide energy.

摘要： In an envelope stacker, a normal force roller mechanism drives a mail piece vertically then retracts without adding significant torque to the stacker. The normal force roller mechanism is comprised of a frame and a bracket pivotally mounted to the frame, the bracket further having an aperture and an arm with a shaft extending therefrom. An idler roller is mounted to the shaft. A hub having a slot is rotatably mounted to a plate. An assembly is provided for moving the plate in a substantially horizontal direction. A generally L-shaped pin having a first end portion and a second end portion extends through the slot so that the first end portion engages the aperture of the bracket. A spring is mounted onto the L-shaped pin between the second end portion and the hub.
