The improvement comprises a first upstream module of the inserter machine and a submodule feeder including structure for coupling the submodule feeder to the upstream end of the first upstream module. The submodule feeder performs operations of a feeder module under the control of the microprocessor of the first upstream module.

    摘要: A system is provided to allow for automatic configuration of print engine scheduling software in accordance with descriptions of print engine modules. Each point engine module contains a description of itself in a form of module capabilities. When a print engine is formed from such modules, the system composes module capabilities to capabilities of a complete print engine. More particularly, inputs and outputs of capabilities are unified and constraints on their attributes are propagated. This enables derivation of potential outputs of the print engine. The resultant print engine capabilities are directly usable to configure scheduling software. Optionally, the resulting print engine capabilities may be compiled further.

    摘要: A system for parameterizing field devices of an automation or control system includes a higher-ranking unit, which is connected via a first communication link based on a first field bus protocol to a communication interface module. The module is connected via a second communication link based on a second field bus protocol to at least one field device. In the higher-ranking unit, sub-blocks are generated and stored from a data structure for configuring the field device that is stored in a device description file for the field device. A first network service transmits the parameters of the field device from the higher-ranking unit via the first communication link into a first functionality of the module that operates as a slave function. A further functionality integrated into the module evaluates parameters of the field device that are stored in sub-blocks and combines the parameters to form a single configuration block.

    摘要: A method for determining a topology of an apparatus for processing physical documents. The apparatus comprises processing modules and a central control unit. The central control unit and the processing modules are connected by central communication connections. A module commmunication connection connects the processing modules in series. The module communication connection has a data flow direction with a predetermined orientation with respect to the processing direction. A processing module upstream in the data flow direction sends first network configuration data. The first network configuration data represents the topology of an upstream part of the data communication network located upstream of the downstream processing module and contains the upstream processing module. A downstream processing module generates second network configuration data on the basis of the first configuration data, which represents the topology of the part of the data communication network that contains the downstream processing module and the part located upstream of the downstream processing module. The downstream processing module sends the second network configuration data to the central control unit. The central control unit determines the topology on the basis thereof.
