    摘要: A fiber optic cable system includes a fiber optic main cable having a strength member and a plurality of optical fibers extending therein within an outer cable sheath. A flexible longitudinally extending inner housing is positioned proximate the plurality of optical fibers on a section of the main cable having the outer cable sheath removed. At least one fiber optic drop cable has at least one optical fiber having an end portion extending outwardly from an end of the drop cable. The end portion is spliced together with an end portion of a corresponding at least one severed end portion of one of the plurality of optical fibers of the main cable to define at least one spliced together fiber portion coupling at least one of the plurality of optical fibers of the main cable to a corresponding one of the at least one fiber of the drop cable. A longitudinally extending outer protective housing extends over the section of the main cable having the outer cable sheath removed and the inner housing and the strength member. The outer protective housing has a first opening receiving the main cable and a second opening, longitudinally displaced from the first opening, receiving the main cable and at least one of the openings receiving the drop cable or cables.

    摘要: An enhanced telecommunication signal insertion system includes a first connection block field including a plurality of switches configured to be coupled to an enhanced signal source and a second connection block field including a plurality of normally closed switches configured to connect respective pairs of tip and ring lines from a central office to corresponding pairs of tip and ring lines to associated subscriber locations and a jumper plug. The jumper plug has a first connector and a second connector with a length of cable extending therebetween. The first connector is configured to be inserted in one of the normally closed switches of the second connection block field to open the one of the normally closed switches. The second connector is configured to be inserted in one of the switches of the first connection block field. When inserted, the jumper plug connects terminals of the one of the switches of the first connection block field to terminals of the one of the normally closed switches of the second connection block field to allow insertion of the enhanced telecommunication signal onto a selected one of the pairs of tip and ring lines to one of the associated subscriber locations associated with the one of the normally closed switches of the second connection block field.

    摘要: According to embodiments of the present invention, a cable sealing assembly for providing an environmental seal about a cable includes a housing, a flowable cable sealant and a compression feature. The housing includes first and second housing parts. The first housing part defines a cable passage to receive a cable having a lengthwise cable axis. The cable sealant is disposed in the cable passage. The compression feature forms at least a part of the second housing part and is movable in an installation direction between a ready position and an installed position. The compression feature is shaped and configured to force the cable sealant to flow about the cable in a direction transverse to the cable axis to circumferentially surround a portion of the cable when the compression feature is moved from the ready position to the installed position.

The resilient seal member includes an inner wall surface defining a channel to receive the elongate object. The seal member has first and second opposed sides. The loading mechanism includes a first pressure member on the first side of the seal member; a second pressure member on the second side of the seal member; a biasing member on the second side of the seal member and interposed between the seal member and the second pressure member; and an adjustable displacement mechanism accessible and operable from the first side of the seal member to displace the first and second pressure members relative to one another to selectively apply a compressive load to the seal member such that the inner wall surface is expanded inwardly to exert a sealing pressure on the elongate object.

An optical fiber connector positioned in a wall of the housing optically couples an optical fiber from the optical fiber cable to a front fiber connection member of the optical fiber connector accessible from outside the housing. Methods of terminating optical fiber using optical fiber termination apparatus are also provided.

    摘要: A fiber optic cable system includes a fiber optic main cable having a longitudinal central axis and an outer cable sheath. An outer optical fiber tube is located within the fiber optic main cable proximate the outer cable sheath and including a plurality of optical fibers extending therein and an inner optical fiber tube is located within the fiber optic main cable closer to the longitudinal central axis of the fiber optic main cable than the outer optical fiber tube and including an optical fiber extending therein. A first splice location in the fiber optic main cable is at a first longitudinal position along the fiber optic main cable. One of the plurality of optical fibers in the outer optical fiber tube is cut at the first splice location. A first section of the cut optical fiber extends from the cut towards a first longitudinal end of the fiber optic main cable and a second section of the cut optical fiber extends from the cut to a second end of the fiber optic main cable that is longitudinally displaced from the first end. A splice at the second end of the fiber optic main cable couples the second section of the cut optical fiber to the optical fiber in the inner optical fiber tube. As such, easier access may be provided to inner tube fibers using sections of the outer tube fibers.

    摘要: An enclosure system for receiving a cable includes an enclosure having an inner chamber and an open position exposing the inner chamber and a closed position covering the inner chamber. A cable receiving port in a wall of the enclosure extends along a longitudinal axis from outside of the enclosure into the inner chamber. The cable receiving port is configured to receive a cable therein when the cable is advanced axially into the port without rotation of the cable when the enclosure is in the closed position. A mating member is associated with the cable receiving port that limits rotation of the cable when the cable is advanced axially into the port. An axial retention member is associated with the cable receiving port that limits axial movement of the cable out of the port when the cable is advanced axially into the port to a lock position.
