Abstract: A locking device for a vehicle seat has a catch which is mounted such that it can be pivoted about a second axis and is intended for locking a mating element, and has a clamping eccentric which is mounted such that it can be pivoted about a first axis, between a locking position and an unlocking position and secures a locked state of the catch by interaction with a first functional surface of the catch. In the locked state, the clamping eccentric acts on the first functional surface via a clamping surface. An unlocking element is mounted such that it can be pivoted about the second axis by an actuating device, counter to a spring force, out of a locking position into an unlocking position. The unlocking element and the clamping eccentric have arranged between them a bias spring element.
