摘要： An improved mounting assembly for removably mounting a stencil screen stretch frame in a so-called silkscreen printing press in a manner which facilitates removal and replacement of the screen frame, reduces the frame cost, and renders the frame easier to handle and stack. The mounting assembly includes mounting means to be secured to the frame mounting portion of the printing press and readily accessible, easily releasible fastening means releasibly securing the screen frame to the mounting means. In one described presently best mode embodiment of the invention, which is designed primarily for a cylinder screen printing press having a carriage for mounting the screen frame, the mounting means of the screen frame mounting assembly comprises a carrier frame having mounting brackets for attachment to the printing press carriage and adapted to removably receive and support the screen frame, and readily accessible, easily releasible fastening means on the carrier frame engagable with the screen frame for releasably securing the latter in the carrier frame. A secondly described presently best mode embodiment comprises mounting brackets, and readily accessible easily releasible fastening means securing the brackets to the screen frame and to the printing press carriage.

摘要： A silk screen printing frame having screen tensioning rollers which are rotatable to stretch a printing screen edgewise across the frame and are mounted on the frame by improved roller mounting assemblies that secure the rollers to roller mounting members at the roller ends. Each roller mounting assembly has an end block portion fixed within the adjacent roller end, a wrench engaging portion beyond the roller end by which the roller may be turned and which may be integral with or a separate part from the end block portion, a bolt extending axially through the end block and wrench engaging portions and the adjacent roller mounting member, and a lock nut threaded on the outer end of the bolt for releasably securing the roller against turning. A head on the inner end of the bolt engages the inner side of the end block portion to restrain the bolt against being pulled outwardly through the assembly when the lock nut is tightened to secure the roller against turning.

摘要： A frame structure for supporting a stretched printing screen of the kind used in the so-called silkscreen printing process. The frame structure is intended for use in screen printing relatively large surface areas, and comprises frame members which are joined at their ends to form an open rectangular screen frame across one side of which the printing screen is stretched. At least two opposing frame members of the screen frame have a unique truss construction which resists either or both vertical bending or sagging of the frame when it is raised and lowered during a screen printing operation and inward bowing of the opposing frame members in the plane of the frame by tension in the stretched printing screen.

摘要： A silk screen frame is removably attached directly to the screen frame carrier of a silk screen printing apparatus, such as the reciprocating screen frame support carriage of a silk screen press, by novel mounting brackets which are attached directly to the carrier and screen frame in such a way as to eliminate the need for the relatively heavy and costly master frame or the like which is commonly used to support the screen frame in conventional silk screen apparatus. The mounting brackets are uniquely constructed and adjustable relative to the screen frame and screen frame carrier to accommodate different screen frame types, including conventional frames, and a range of screen frame sizes and to permit precise alignment of the screen frame relative to the screen frame carrier.

The support may include a platen dimensioned and configured to accept a generally planar axial extremity of each spacer.

摘要： A relatively light weight screen printing frame structure particularly adapted for use in making relatively large area screen prints. The frame structure has an open rectangular screen frame proper including truss frame members along at least two opposing sides of the frame which mount screen gripping and tensioning means and have a unique open truss construction which resists bending of these frame members by the screen tension forces and other forces acting on these members during screen printing operations. In the preferred screen frame structure described, the reinforcing truss structures of the truss frame members are located inwardly of the screen gripping and tensioning means in such a way as to minimize the overall size and weight of a frame structure for supporting a printing screen of any given useful area.
