    摘要: A printing plate cylinder for a printing machine has a rotatable cylinder mandrel and a sleeve that is at least partially positionable over the cylinder mandrel. The angular positions of the mandrel and the sleeve are alignable to each other by a male register element which is fixed on one of the two elements to be aligned, and a female register element which is part of the corresponding other element to be aligned. Both the male and female register elements remain in working connection with each other if the elements to be aligned are in the set position relative to each other. At least one of the male and female register elements is controlled by movement of the other element to be aligned.

    摘要: A reliable method of aligning a printing plate against a stop includes moving the printing plate and the stop relative to each other, detecting temperature changes occurring at a temperature sensor connected to the stop, when the printing plate comes into contact with the stop, deriving signals indicating the position of the printing plate relative to the stop from the signals of the temperature sensor, and deriving a signal indicating the thermal conductivity between the printing plate and the stop from a speed of change of the temperature sensor signal. A signal indicating incorrect alignment of the printing plate against the stop is output if the thermal conductivity drops below a predetermined threshold.

    摘要: A system and method for adhering and aligning a generally flat, planar object to an adhesive layer, and for facilitating the mounting of the generally flat planar object, such as a printing plate, in near perfect alignment in a cylindrical manner. The method includes providing a generally flat, planar object such as a printing plate and an adhesive member having an adhesive layer at least on one surface. The adhesive member is preferably approximately the same size as the printing plate. The printing plate is mounted to the adhesive member such that there is one edge of the adhesive member which is not initially covered by the printing plate and one edge of the printing plate which overhangs the adhesive member. The combined adhesive member/printing plate structure is next rolled into a cylindrical form and held in place on a device which allows alignment marks on the printing plate to align the two ends of the printing plate prior to the printing plate being fully adhered to the adhesive member. The resulting sleeve structure can then be inserted onto a plate cylinder and this assembly utilized in a printing press. In another embodiment, the adhesive member is provided as a single or multi-layered structure pre-rolled into a generally circular form.

    摘要: A plate holding apparatus includes a plate holding device and an air cylinder. The plate holding device holds an old plate discharged from a plate cylinder. The air cylinder moves the plate holding device between the first position of holding the discharged old plate and the second position away from the plate cylinder. The plate holding device includes a support member, first and second rotary members, a lever, stopper, and tensile coil spring, and a one-way clutch. The first rotary member is rotatably, axially supported by the support member. The second rotary member is axially supported by the support member to be movable and rotatable. The lever, stopper, and tensile coil spring move the second rotary member to come into contact with and separate from the first rotary member. When the old plate is held by the first and second rotary members, the one-way clutch allows at least one of the first and second rotary members to rotate in the first direction to disengage the old plate from the plate cylinder, and regulates it from rotating in the second direction opposite to the first direction.
