摘要： Reproduction means of a general-purpose computer (1) reproduces a digital content only when a device ID included in the digital content corresponds to a device ID of a device by which it is intended to reproduce the digital content. When the device ID of the general-purpose computer (1) is altered, a recovery program for recovering an original device ID is downloaded from a recovery program generation server (2), thereby the device ID is recovered. With this arrangement, it is possible to provide a communication system which is capable of recovering a device ID when, for instance, the device ID is altered on account of the reinstall of a program such as an OS or content player.

The image processing apparatus includes an image inputting means for inputting front and back images of an original, an image reversing means for reversing one of the front and back images, a position relationship detection means, image correcting means and image outputting means for outputting the image. The positional relationship detecting means detects the positional relationship between the front image reversed by the image reversing means and the back image from the image inputting means or the positional relationship between the back image reversed by the image reversing means and the front image from the image inputting means. The image correcting means corrects the image to eliminate a ghost image of the image using the positional relationship between the front and back images obtained from the positional relationship detecting means.

Further, in order to contract an composite image comprising a character, a line drawing, and a halftone dot, an image processing apparatus (21a) comprises an image inputting section (22), a character/line drawing region extracting section (23) for an input image, a pseudo-density region extracting section (24) for the input image, an image contracting section (25) for contracting the image using different methods respectively in the pseudo-density region, the character/line drawing region, and the other region, and an image outputting section (26) for outputting the image. Furthermore, in order to eliminate a ghost image, in an image processing apparatus (31a), front and back images are inputted from an image inputting section (32), an image reversing section (33a) reverses it, a positional relationship detecting section (34) detects the positional relationship, an image correcting section (35) corrects the image as to eliminate a ghost image, an image reversing section (33b) reverses it again, and an image outputting section (36). 摘要： The image input part (3) in an authoring device (1) reads a plurality of pages of a paper publication and creates images of the pages. In the border eliminating part (9) of the authoring device (1), a common area extraction part (15) extracts the area common to all of the images of the pages. The layouts with respect to at least either text or drawings in this common area of the images resemble one another. The non common-area replacement part (19) replaces the color of the portion outside the common area of the images with the background color of the common area, so as to remove the border outside the common area of each of the images. An image output part (5) in the authoring device (1) outputs the data of the post-replacement images of all of the pages of the paper publication as the contents of an electronic publication.
