    摘要: A system and method for calculating misalignment of a rotational body includes: deriving radial displacement amounts of the rotational body for at least four or more measurement points; selecting three arbitrary points among all the measurement points to calculate a circle; calculating circle values for all the measurement points from the calculated circle; calculating differences between the calculated circle values and the radial displacement amounts as error amounts at the measurement points; summing the error amounts to derive a total error amount value; repeating calculation for combinations of three measurement points to calculate each total error amount value; selecting a calculated circle with a minimum total error amount value as a most probable circle; and calculating deviation between the center of the most probable circle and the center of rotation of the rotational body as misalignment data of the most probable circle.

    摘要: A method of manufacturing a golf ball is disclosed. A cover is molded through use of either a thermoplastic resin having a group capable of reacting with an isocyanate group or a thermoplastic resin containing a compound having two or more groups capable of reacting with an isocyanate group. Subsequently, a polyisocyanate compound is caused to permeate into the surface layer of the cover to thereby cause the reaction between the polyisocyanate compound and the group(s) capable of reacting with the isocyanate group. As a result, a modified layer having excellent properties is formed at the surface of the cover formed from thermoplastic resin. In this case, a non-yellowing polyurethane resin is preferably used as the thermoplastic resin having a group capable of reacting with an isocyanate group, and 4,4-diphenylmethane diisocyanate (MDI) is preferably used as the polyisocyanate compound.

    摘要: In a dimpled golf ball, the parameters of dimples are optimized to improve the aerodynamic performance of the ball and thus increase its flight distance. The dimples have a planar shape which is circular, and are of at least three types of mutually differing diameter. At least one of the types of dimples has a cross-sectional shape differing from that of the other types. One of the dimple types may have a cross-sectional shape defined by the union of at least two concave portions of differing slope.

    摘要: Markings are imparted to the surface of a golf ball at the same time as the ball is molded in a two-part mold having an inner wall defining a spherical cavity. A is provided on the cavity-defining wall of the mold, and the cavity is then filled with a molding material. Also disclosed is a marking method which includes affixing a mark bearing film to the surface of a covered body comprising a core enclosed within a pair of half-cups, then compression molding the covered body. Markings can easily and efficiently be applied to a golf ball without compromising the uniformity of the dimple shapes on the ball surface.

    摘要: A golf ball mold includes a pair of mold sections which are removably mated to define a spherical cavity therein, a plurality of support pins for supporting a core at the center of the cavity, and a degassing pin. At least one of the pins is provided at its distal end face with a projection for stamping a symbol. The mold is capable of stamping an identification mark on golf balls at the same time as their molding. The mark is successively stamped on the balls at a predetermined position to a constant clearness in a simple accurate manner.

    摘要: There are disclosed a method and an apparatus for measuring the surface shape of a golf ball. A positional relationship detection process is performed by radiating laser light from the light generation section onto the surface of the golf ball at a predetermined position and receiving, through use of the light reception section, reflection light of the laser light reflected at the predetermined position on the surface of the golf ball in order to detect the positional relationship among the light generation section, the laser light radiated position on the surface of the golf ball, and the light reception section. The positional relationship detection process is repeated at a plurality of positions on the surface of the golf ball, and variation in the relative radial position of the surface of the golf ball is determined based on a plurality of positional relationships thus obtained. The surface shape of the golf ball, e.g., the surface shape of dimples, can be measured precisely.

    摘要: In a wound golf ball comprising a center ball (1), thread rubber (2), and a cover, the cover consists of a first layer (3) on the wound center and a second layer (4) on the first layer. The first layer (3) is 0.5-3.0 mm thick. The second layer (4) is 10-300 .mu.m thick. The second layer (4) may be formed by either (a) injection molding a resin composition to enclose the first layer (3) or (b) press molding a resin composition film wrapped around the first layer (3). Dimples may be embossed in the first layer (3) before the second layer (4) is formed thereon. Preferably, dimples are embossed after the second layer (4) is formed on the first layer (3). The ball affords improved spin and flying distance and is fully durable.
