Abstract: Described is an apparatus and method, particularly applicable to a brush bed conveyor system, by which objects, typically citrus fruit, are washed or sprayed. A moveable high pressure spray manifold is contained within a manifold carriage and is disposed within the conveyor chassis such that it is moved along above a brush bed by a conveyor chain. Separation bars extend from the conveyor chain to segregate the objects into queues retained within the spray pattern of the manifold. When the manifold reaches a predetermined end position, a release latch is decoupled from the separation bars to disconnect the separation bars and conveyor chain from the manifold carriage. The predetermined end position is sensed and the manifold carriage is quickly returned to its initial position by means of a selectively activated pneumatic piston assembly.

Abstract: A directed flow apparatus is proposed for improving the mechanical washing of surgical instrument handpieces. The apparatus takes the form of a cleaning adaptor that is designed to attach to the distal opening of the handpiece and an inlet port connector inserted on a fluid jet of the mechanical washer. A suitable length of tubing is connected between the cleaning adaptor and the inlet port connector so that when the washing cycle begins, a high force stream of cleaning fluid is specifically directed into the interior of the handpiece and focusing the direction of the cleaning fluid into a channel that is not easily accessible otherwise.

Abstract: Apparatus for loading objects, particularly large cylindrical hay bales upon a motor truck. The bale loader includes a frame which is comprised of a first frame section which is to be semipermanently mounted upon the motor truck, and a demountable second frame section to which the remainder of the bale loader apparatus is attached. To this demountable frame section is attached a boom which is operated by means of a winch and winch line. The boom is in turn connected to a standard tractor three point bale fork. This apparatus in combination with a standard motor truck can be used to lift a large cylindrical hay bale from the ground to a traveling position above the bed of the motor truck, then transport the bale to another location and lower the bale to the ground. In an alternative embodiment of the invention the bale fork is replaced by a lifting boom to create a small crane for lifting and transporting miscellaneous items.
