摘要: An apparatus and a method for producing a casting mold are provided, according to which the casting mold having a complex shape can be obtained with stable quality. The apparatus comprises a mold having a cavity therein, a steam supply unit, a steam supply passage connected to the cavity, steam discharge passages, flow regulators disposed in the steam discharge passages to regulate an amount of the steam discharged from the cavity, and a control unit for controlling the flow regulators. After a resin-coated sand prepared by coating a refractory aggregate with a binder resin is injected into the cavity of the heated mold, superheated steam is supplied into the cavity. At this time, the control unit controls the flow regulators such that the cavity is uniformly filled with the superheated steam.

摘要: A measuring apparatus is disclosed in which a surface to be measured is scanned by a scanning beam and the angular deviation of the scanning beam of light regularly reflected from the surface is detected to know the flatness of the surface. The measuring apparatus includes an optical system for projecting the scanning beam obliquely on the surface to increase the amount of the regularly reflected light from the surface so that measurement of the flatness of even such surface containing roughened surface areas or light scattering surface area can be made with the measuring apparatus.

摘要: A measuring apparatus is disclosed in which a surface to be measured in scanned by a scanning beam essentially normally incident upon the surface and the angular deviation of the beam of light regularly reflected from the surface is detected to measure the flatness of the surface. When the surface to be measured is such one which includes a low reflective part on which diffraction and/or scatter of light take place, and a high reflective part which may be considered almost to be a mirror surface, the measurement of flatness thereof is very difficult or impossible to carry out. This is applied, for example, to a semiconductor silicon wafer having thereon patterns for IC, LSI and the like. To enable to measure the flatness of such surface, the measuring apparatus according to the present invention comprises means for varying the cross sectional area of the scanning beam to the extent in which the cross sectional area of the scanning beam may cover the low reflective part and at least a portion of the high reflective part.

摘要: A process for metal plating shaped articles, such as cast or molded articles of synthetic resins, includes the steps of (a) diffusing or scattering numerous fine metal particles (or pieces) over the surface and outermost layer of the articles, (b) etching exposed surfaces of the metal particles, (c) performing thereafter metal plating, (d) and thereby solidly combining or joining the plating layer and the articles through the medium of the fine metal particles, whereby the resulting plated articles are extremely eminent in abrasion and shock resistance which is essentially useful for casting and molding patterns or core boxes.
