摘要: A method and system for selecting frequency channels for a concurrent dual transceiver system are provided. In one aspect, a single hop table for at least two transceivers is used. The single hop table tracks information associated with a plurality of frequency channels that the transceivers can use. An available frequency channel is randomly selected using the single hop table and a transceiver is allowed to communicate via the selected frequency channel for allowed time duration. If communication has not completed for the current communication request, another frequency channel that is available is selected randomly and used. Multiple transceivers may communicate concurrently using this frequency channel selection and hopping method.

摘要: An alarm system receiver that is capable of receiving signals transmitted from wireless intrusion detectors at more than one frequency and automatically switching from receiving at one frequency to receiving at a different frequency based on the detection of an interference signal. The alarm system receiver senses a first signal, filters the sensed first signal at a first frequency, demodulates the filtered first signal at the first frequency, and determines if a first interference signal is present in the demodulated first signal for a predetermined time. If the first interference signal is not present in the demodulated first signal, it processes the demodulated first signal as an alarm system signal. If the first interference signal is present in the demodulated signal, the alarm system receiver senses a second signal, filters the sensed second signal at a second frequency, demodulates the filtered second signal at the second frequency, and processes the demodulated second signal as an alarm signal. The alarm system receiver consists of an antenna, more than one filter, more than one local oscillator for providing oscillator signals at the predetermined frequencies, a demodulator for inputting one of the oscillator signals and a corresponding one of the filtered signals to provide a demodulated signal, and an interference detection circuit for inputting the demodulated signal, determining if an interference signal is present in the demodulated signal, and providing an interference detection signal.

摘要: A security system is disclosed for a protected space such as a residential or commercial premises that transmits a wireless RF video transmission to a wireless RF portable video monitor/display accessible to a homeowner/person prior to the person entering the security system protected premises. The portable video monitor can be mounted on the dashboard of the person's automobile to display the status of the security system and possibly video images provided by security system video cameras when the automobile is within range of the RF transmission, which can be a short range RF transmission, typically within visible range of the premises. This enables the person to review the status of the security system and video images before entering the premises to determine if it is safe to enter.

摘要: A key fob with a housing into which a deadbolt key is mounted such that the shank protrudes therefrom, enabling a user to turn the housing and cause the key to lock or unlock the door. Within the keyfob are a pair of switches or other sensing means configured to close on either the turning of the housing in a first (clockwise) direction or a second (counterclockwise) direction. Based on the direction the housing is turned, either a first coded signal or a second coded signal is transmitted to a control panel. The control panel will then either arm or disarm the security system based on how it has been programmed during installation. This enables the user to easily arm the system when the door is being locked and disarm the system when the door is being unlocked without requiring a separate action on the part of the user.

摘要: Apparatus for remotely changing the sensitivity of a sensor in a security system which includes at least a first sensor having at least first and second outputs corresponding respectively to first and second sensitivity settings, and programmable apparatus cooperating with the first and second outputs of the first sensor. The programmable apparatus is programmable to operatively connect one of the first and second outputs. The apparatus also includes a transmitter coupled to the sensor for transmitting the output of the sensor to an associated security system alarm panel. The invention also includes the method for remotely changing the sensitivity of a sensor in a security system which includes providing at least a first sensor having at least first and second outputs corresponding respectively to first and second sensitivity settings, providing a programmable apparatus for operatively connecting one of the first and second outputs of the first sensor.

摘要: A space safety apparatus monitoring a volume of space encompassing a field of view (FOV) for detecting an intrusion including a gas or vapor, and includes a micro-electro-mechanical system (MEMS) having mirror elements in a mirror array for reflecting infra-red (IR) energy beam collected from the FOV and an IR energy detector for detecting the IR energy reflected by the MEMS array and converting the IR energy to an output signal. A processor adjusts an angle of an element of the MEMS mirror array by varying a control signal, or by switching from one to another focusing element. The method includes detection in a volume of space by positioning a MEMS mirror array to reflect IR signal with respect to active elements of an IR detector; and collecting IR energy from an ith portion of the FOV.

摘要: A MEMS based overhead garage door intrusion sensor for a security system, such as a residential/home security system, for detecting an intrusion through an overhead garage door. In one embodiment, a MEMS sensor accelerometer is mounted with a sensitive axis of the MEMS device, along which the MEMS device measures acceleration/gravity, pointing vertically downward towards the earth when the overhead garage door is closed, such that the MEMS sensor measures a 1 g acceleration/gravity force, and when the overhead garage door is open, the sensitive axis of the MEMS device points horizontally with respect to the earth, such that the MEMS sensor measures a 0 g acceleration/gravity force, such that the output of the MEMS sensor, indicating either a 1 g or a 0 g measured acceleration/gravity force, indicates whether the overhead garage door is respectively closed or open. Alternatively, the MEMS sensor can be a MEMS switch. An ASIC or microcontroller can monitor the output of the MEMS sensor, and one embodiment employs wireless RF technology.

摘要: A multi-stage verification system including a first and second identification device to verify the identity of the user and to determine if the user is under duress. When a user approaches an entrance to a building, a first identifier is detected by the first identification device, the identifier is compared to a pre-stored identifier. If there is a match, the user inputs at least one biometric input into the second identification device. The biometric input is compares with pre-stored information in two different databases, a biometric template database and a duress indicator database. If there is a match with the duress indicator database, a silent alarm signal is transmitted to a central monitoring station and the security system is disarmed. If there is a match with the biometric template database, the security system is controlled in the intended manner.
