Abstract: Provided are a coating device and an inkjet recording device capable of reliably removing liquid attached to a drum. A process liquid is coated by pressing a coating roller against a surface of paper to be transported by a process liquid coating drum. The process liquid attached to an outer peripheral surface of the process liquid coating drum is removed by a blade coming into contact with the outer peripheral surface of the process liquid coating drum. The blade is separated from the process liquid coating drum by an installation portion of a gripper. The process liquid remaining in the process liquid coating drum during separation is removed by air that is ejected from air nozzles.
