摘要: A check link assembly for a vehicle closure is configured to be operable in two phases: a detent check phase and an infinite check phase. The vehicle closure is pivotably connected to a vehicle body and has a closed position and an open position. The check link assembly includes a detent assembly having a detent configured to provide a detent check position between the closed position and the open position. The check link assembly also includes a hydraulic or pneumatic strut operatively connected to the detent assembly and configured to provide check positions at all positions between the detent check position and the open position. The detent assembly and the strut are configured to operate in series as the door is pivoted.

摘要: An impact beam assembly includes a beam of high-strength steel, and a pair of end brackets constructed of a dissimilar material than the high-strength steel. The brackets are locally deformed onto the beam to thereby surround a portion of the beam. Once deformed, the brackets define a flat section suitable for welding to a vehicle door panel, as well as a section for retaining the beam. The beam can include a surface feature suitable for retaining the beam to the end brackets. A method of reinforcing a vehicle door assembly includes positioning the beam with respect to the end brackets such that the brackets surround a portion of the beam, and then activating a magnetic pulse coil (MPC) to deform an overlapping portion of the brackets onto the beam. The brackets are then attached to a surface of the door assembly to reinforce the door assembly.

摘要: A bracket nut for coupling a fastener to a sheet member is provided. The sheet member defines a first plane and the bracket nut defines a second plane, which is at an offset angle to the first plane. The sheet member defines a first hole substantially perpendicular to the first plane, and the bracket nut is configured to mate with the first hole. A second hole is defined in the bracket nut and is substantially perpendicular to the second plane. The second hole is configured to accept the fastener. The offset angle may be between approximately thirty to approximately sixty degrees. The bracket nut may include a first cantilevered arm and a second cantilevered arm. The first cantilevered arm and the second cantilevered arm are configured to prevent rotation about the first hole.
